Summary
There was a time when it was implied the gap between Across The Spider-Verse and Beyond The Spider-Verse would only be a year long. It will have been two years since the release of the second movie in the trilogy this summer with no suggestion of when the third film will be here. On the bright side, the middle movie now has a new Funko Pop, and it’s a good one.
The newest figure in Funko’s Spider-Verse collection is modeled after Spider-Gwen, or Gwen Stacey, or Ghost-Spider. She has a lot of names, although the official product description for the Pop goes with Spider-Gwen, so let’s stick with that. Officially tied to Across The Spider-Verse, even though that version of Spider-Gwen already has her own Funko Pop, this one is a little different.
While it keeps the look Gwen has while in her Spidey gear during the movie, the figure has been designed to make it look as if she’s hanging upside-down. Similar to Funko Pops which are made to look like the figure is flying or floating, Gwen is attached to a transparent stand to make it seem as if she isn’t touching the floor. Instead, she’s hanging from a web that’s attached to a small block at the top of the figure.

The Gwen Pop appears to have a small bit at the top that might allow you to attach it to something, so literally making it look like the hero is hanging from a web when displayed. I’m sure you could make that happen if you wanted to even if there isn’t an official way of doing so.
Even though there isn’t an animated Spider-Man movie coming for the foreseeable future, there is an animated Spidey show coming to Disney Plus. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, an animated show created by the same people behind X-Men ‘97 that will look to build on its success, starts streaming on January 29. There has been no mention of whether Spider-Gwen will be a part of the show yet, though.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Spider-Gwen Funko Pop
Spider-Gwen’s Funko Pop is not only modeled after the character’s look in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, but it has the added gimmick of being upside-down. The figure has a transparent stand to make it look like Gwen isn’t touching the ground and a small area for her web to hang from.
Despite not getting anything new from Spider-Man in 2024, it was a busy year for web-slinging Funko Pops. Most of them were spun fromSpider-Man 2following its release towards the end of 2023. Upside-down Spider-Gwen’s Pop is the first addition to the Spider-Man Funko family of 2025, following on fromthe Scarlet Spider-Man Popreleased at the end of 2024.
