In the Tales series, the Grade Shop is a nifty feature that is unlocked via New Game Plus. In addition to the chance to transfer over much of your preexisting stats, cash, and more, you’re able to also choose between all sorts of parameters. Faster EXP and SP growth, a heck of a lot more money, and more.
It’s all designed to incentivize replays, but inTales of Graces f Remastered, Bandai Namco has gone a different route; aside from the file carryover fare, everything is unlockable from your very first file. In this guide, we’ll go over what it all means, and whether you ought to take advantage of it.

All New Game Grade Shop Options In Tales Of Graces F Remastered
Before we begin in earnest, we want to mention something fairly important:you may disable your chosen Grade Shop features at any time, but youcannotadd anything that you hadn’t selected before starting your game. You need to commit, so if anything looks appealing later in your playthrough, just pick it up now, and disable it until you want it working.
Should You Enable It On Your First File?
Trade EXP for Gold
You’ll eschew much of your normally-earned experience points in favor of more Gald.
As a result, your levels will remain dangerously low - that is, unless you’re on New
Definitely not
Double Experience
The experience points you earn from battles will double, helping you to level up
Probably; it can speed things up without neutering
things too much, helping you to avoid much grinding
5x Experience
Experience point growth will move at fives times its normal speed, making leveling
a rapid process. This can even be paired with Double Experience to ramp things up
Probably not; unless youreallywant to power through
the game, you’re going to inevitably end up way above
average levels, trivializing many fights
Half Experience
As the name suggests, you’ll lose 50 percent of the EXP you’d normally earn.
No; this really slows things down, necessitating a fair
amount of grinding if you want to keep to the difficulty
curve
Double SP
You’ll earn SP at twice the normal rate. As a result, your characters will learn skills
Probably; there are hundreds of skills to learn for every
character in Tales of Graces f, and this lightens the
ordeal within reasonable bounds.
Triple SP
SP will grow at thrice the normal rate. This can likely be paired with Double SP for
Probably not; not only will this nuke gameplay balance
to a substantial degree, but you may even grow
frustrated with the speed at which you will need to
swap titles!
Double Item Drops
Enemies will drop crafting materials and other tidbits at twice the normal rate. If you’re
grinding for Dualizer ingredients, it’ll hasten the process.
Maybe; youwillbe zipping through heaps of items if
you wish to engage with the Dualizer as much as you
likely should. It’s helpful, but not absurd.
Dualize Discount
The amount you’ll have to spend whenever you use the Dualize feature will be cut
Probably not; Tales of Graces f’s economy is fair without
being painstakingly limiating. You should have enough
Gald to Dualize as much as you need.
Upgrade Eleth Mixer
The rate at which your Eleth Mixer produces duplicate copies of craftable items
increases by a decent amount.
Yes; this is one of the few enhancements that really doesn’t
shift balance by much at all. Item creation can be glacial,
so you won’t need to run around as much with this enabled.
Expand Inventory
Your maximum number of each item in your inventory will increase from 20 to 30.
Yes; this, too, doesn’t cause a paradigm shift in Tales
of Graces f’s design ethos. It’s a nice little boost that you’ll
only sometimes notice.
Maximum Speed
The speed at which Asbel runs throughout the world is elevated to its maximum
attainable level.
Yes; there’s a great deal of backtracking involved in this
game, which can be a frequent point of tension. Make it
a bit less tedious.
Chain Capacity +1
The number of attacks your characters can chain together before they need to recharge
is increased by one, both in minimum and maximum.
Probably not; while it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme
of things, it still presents more of an advantage in early
combat than intended. If that doesn’t bother you, then sure!
Provides a +2 boost on minimum and maximum.
Probably not; see above.
Double Critical
Your characters will land critical hits at twice the normal rate. However, so will your
No; this is a high-risk, high-reward, scenario that should
be reserved for replays.
Double Damage
Allies and enemies both deal twice the amount of damage with every attack.
No; while it speeds up combat, Tales of Graces f doesn’t
really have any issue with slow battling to begin with, and
5x Damage
Five times the normal damage for the above modifier.
No; absolutely not. It’sgoingto feel overwhelming. Whatever
you do, definitely do not mix this with Double for the 10x
Money acquisition is doubled.
Probably not; again, Tales of Graces f’s economy is pretty
fair. We suppose it does take abitof grinding, so go ahead
with it if that’s too big a bother for you.
Unlock Qualities
You’ll unlock a few more potential qualities for your equipment, which can, as a result,
boost their stats more than usual.
Probably; it’s a fun tweak that can theoretically power you up
a good deal more than usual, but it will take real effort on
your part to make that happen.
Eleth +500
Your Eleth Mixer’s fullness will be 500 more than it otherwise would have been. This
means you won’t need to recharge it as quickly.
Probably; you’re going to be consuming this resource quite
swiftly early on, and that really doesn’t change much for a
long time. Not needing to see the Turtlez merchants as often
HP +1000
No; this shakes things up far too much, especially during
the childhood arc, which is easy enough as-is.
You will, on subsequent files, be able totransfer various things over from your original file for a Grade Point price. Since this is self-explanatory, and not something you will be dealing with for 50+ hours, we’ve omitted their inclusion in the table.
