How To Get A Job

To get a job in The Sims 2, you’ll need toread through the newspaperoruse a computerto search for a job. There are only a few listing available per day, so if you’re able to’t find your dream job, you’ll need to make do until then.

In the newspaper, which is delivered daily, there areonly three listings. If you check the computer, you’llfind five listings total. Make sure to check both to ensure you have the best chance of finding your Sim’s dream gig.

When your Sim goes to work, they’llget paid upon their return. A car will come to get them when it’s time to work and it will bring them back, thoughyou can choose to walk to workas well.

How To Get A Job By Networking

While talking with other Sims and making friends, you mightencounter networking opportunities. These are unique interactions thatoffer your Sim access to higher level jobswithout having to work your way up the ladder.

You can’t force these encounters, but when youspeak with your neighbors and friends, you may be offered a job on the spot. Stay social and you can save yourself a lot of effort! What Sim wouldn’t wanta high-paying jobthey aren’t qualified for?

How To Get Promoted

Check the job menu to see what yourspecific promotion requirementsare. You can see whatskills need to be upgradedalong withhow many friends your Sim needsto have to make their way up the corporate ladder.

There are alsowork opportunities throughout the daythat can speed up your promotions, but they canalso get you fired. For this reason, it’s best tosave before your Sim goes to workeach day in case these rare occurrences happen.
