As you go through the main story ofAssassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll realize that it revolves around 12 Shinbakufu, with each having a separate story that you have to follow to assassinate them in the end. However, other than this main group, you can also get various side quests that require you to assassinate targets.
The Kabukimono is one such quest, and you’ll have eight targets to locate and defeat in this one. You’ll get three clues for each target, and some of these can be quite difficult to find if you don’t pay attention to the areas mentioned in the hints.

How To Get The Kabukimono Quest
The Kabukimono is likely one of the first few side quests you’ll get in Assassin’s Creed Shadows since itcan be found in the very first province itself called Izumi Settsu. To uncover it on your map, you’ll have to cross the water to the northwest of Settsu and reach Amagasaki.
From here, move directly east andyou’ll find the quest icon just below the Nishinomiya Shrine. Talk to the NPC with the quest icon on top of him and you’ll get a separate circle on your objective bar that will have all the Kabukimono listed.

How To Find And Assassinate The Grave Dancer
While you’re able to start doing The Kabukimono quest as soon as you get it, it’s recommended to level up some moresince most of the Kabukimono have some Ronin around them, and these enemies are quite tough to beat in a head-on battle due to their constant barrage of attacks and parries.
You should focus on your assassinate skill tree and get enough upgrades toremove three HP bars from the enemies to deal with these Ronin. After that, you can head over to the Osaka Kakurega to find the Grave Dancer. If you haven’t already uncovered Osaka, it can be found by crossing the waters to the southeast of Amagasaki.

The Kakurega mentioned above can be found on the southwestern side of Osaka, but you don’t have to go there unless you’re teleporting.
The Grave Dancer can be found in Sumiyoshi Shrine, which isdirectly to the south of Osaka Castle or the southeast of the Kakurega. As you enter this shrine, move forward a bit and use observe mode to find the Grave Dancer and a Ronin standing beside a tree.

How To Find And Assassinate Ember
The second Kabukimono you should look for is Ember since he’s quite close to Grave Dancer. Once again, start by teleporting to the Osaka Kakurega as the hints say that he can be found in the southwestern part of this village near some burnt buildings. From the Kakurega, move straight in the western direction.
You’ll find the required burnt buildings here just before you enter the water separating this part of the village, and the Kabukimono can be found here with his Ronin. It’s easy to defeat this one as you can simplylure him near the cart with explosive barrels on it and then explode them with a Kunai, instantly killing both Ember and his Ronin.

How To Find And Assassinate Ghost General
Ghost General will likely be the third Kabukimono you’ll start hunting, and this one can be the hardest to find if you don’t pinpoint his location. The hint says that he can be found on a western shore, but there’s not much more information on him. However, you can easily find him in the Sakai city in the southwest part of Settsu.
Once you’re in this city, move to the western edge of it while heading to the northern side andyou’ll find Ghost General standing on a wooden pier with his Ronin. This one can be tricky to assassinate with how open the port is, but you can use smoke bombs to your advantage if you have them.

How To Find And Assassinate Big Sueki
The next Kabukimono can either be the easiest or the most difficult one to assassinate so far, depending on your level of upgrades in the assassin skill tree. Big Sueki will be surrounded with multiple Ronin in his hideout, but he only has three HP bars of his own, which is less than other Kabukimono.
You’d want the ability toassassinate enemies with three bars for this onesince you can’t fight multiple Ronin at the same time.
Once you have the required upgrades, you can head to the Amagasaki castle in thenorthwestern part of Izumi Settsu and move just to the north of it past the water. You’ll see Muko Post Town, and you’ll find Big Sueki with his army of Ronin here.
How To Find And Assassinate Chief Cuckoo
The next Kabukimono will likely be the easiest one to find as the directions given for him are quite simple. You can find Chief Cuckoo Kabukimono in the Katano Oil Trading hostile area found in the southwest of Katano, which can be found right below where Izumo Settsu is written on the mapwhen you zoom out.
He will be surrounded by a couple of Roninbut there will also be multiple smaller enemies in the area. The best way to go about this one is getting rid of smaller enemies one at a time first, and then using smoke bombs to first remove the Ronin from the equation, followed by fighting the chief.
Should You Gather The Kabukimono Or Hunt Them Separately?
Once you’ve assassinated the five Kabukimono mentioned above, you’ll have towait quite a bit to get the last three as they’re much higher levelthan you will be in Settsu. These Kabukimono can be found in the Harima province to the northwest of Settsu, and you have a choice to make the quest easier before it.
After beating the five Kabukimono, the game will ask you to leave a message at the Nishinomiya Shrine, which can be found to the east of Amagasaki castle right where you got this quest at the start. Once you get to the shrine, you can leave the message on the notice board right outside it, and you have two choices here:
Group Up The Kabukimono
If you choose this option, the quest will become significantly easier as you’lljust have to find one location to find all three Kabukimono.
This location will only have the three enemies and no Ronin around them. In fact, when the battle starts, you’ll have some help from other soldiers.
Hunt Them Separately
Choosing this option will lead to the quest being a little more difficult as you’ll have tohunt all three Kabukimono separately all around Harima.
Apart from being scattered quite far away from each other, these Kabukimono will always have Ronin around themin separate locations, making it tougher.
If you have recently made this choice in this quest and decided to hunt them separately,it’s recommended to go back and change it.
You’ll be saving a significant amount of time getting them together, though we’ll have the solutions for you in both cases!
Where To Find The Last Three Kabukimono Together
If you decide to group the Corrupt Blade, Laughing Man, and Peacock Kabukimono, you’ll have to find them in the lumberyard near Takagi Otsuka Fort. This can be found in the southwestern side quite close to Settsu’s boundary. Take the road leading out of Settsu at the bottom and keep on it until you find the second path going to your right.
This path will be just above a few small islands in the southern waters of Harima, and following this path will lead you to the Takagi Otsuka Fort. Once you reach the fort, take the road going to the right below it and the lumberyard will be on your rightwith the three Kabukimono.
All these Kabukimono will have three to four HP bars, so it’srecommended to use stealth and assassinate them slowly.
If you already have Yasuke unlocked, you canalso play as him and challenge the Kabukimono head-on. Once all three of them are defeated, you can head back to the quest-giver and end it.
How To Find Corrupt Blade Separately
If you choose to deal with all the Kabukimono separately, the Corrupt Blade will be the first one you’ll find near Takagi Otsuka fort mentioned above.Move to the northeastern side of this fort and you’ll reveal a fast travel point.
This point will be on the Habayama Camp, which is the location you’re looking for. You’llhave to defeat a bunch of Roninbefore you can get to the Kabukimono here.
How To Find Laughing Man Separately
The Laughing Man Kabukimono will likely be the second one out of the three you’ll find in Harima, and he can be spotted by going straight in the northern direction from the Takagi Otsuka Fort. While on this path, you’ll eventually spot the Kitano Village Kakurega, andthe required location is to the north of this called Blackstone Cascades.
It can be found to the west-northwest of Kamakura Valley on the map,a little close to the boundary between Harima and Tamba. Once you get to the location, you simply have to defeat one Ronin and the Laughing Man.
Where To Find Peacock Separately
The clue for the last Kabukimono suggests that he can be found at the boundary of Harima and Tamba, which is on the northwestern side of the former. You’ll find the road connecting these boundaries going through Mount Kasagata, and Peacock can be found on the left when you reach Tamba using this road.
Once again, you’ll just have to defeat one Ronin and the Kabukimono. Once all of them are defeated, you can head back to the quest-giver for your final rewards. You can get 2,000 XP, mastery points, and some rare/legendary gearwhile killing these Kabukimono. When you finish the quest, you can get another 5,000 XP.
