Avowedhas performed much better than most expected to. Thediet-Skyrim comparisonsdid not faze fans, resulting in great sales forObsidian’s RPG, propelling it to thetop of Steam’s top sellers charts. It’s safe to say that Avowed has managed to carve its own niche in many ways, while missing out in others.
One of Avowed’s original ideas is its Dreamscourge, a rather beautiful fungal infection that’s taking over the land. Unlike the dark and dreary Shadow Curse in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the terrifying cordyceps infection from The Last of Us, the Dreamscourge is rather pretty to look at. It now seems you’ll be able to grow your own Dreamscourge, and can even keep a miniature version of the game’s iconic fungal bears.
You Can Now Grow Your Own Dreamscourge
Obsidian Entertainment has partnered withNorth Spore, a company that makes and sells grow-your-own mushrooms kits (thanks,PC Gamer). A special Avowed Spray & Grow Kit will allow you to grow and keep some pretty looking mushrooms that look like they’re right out of the game. Featuring Blue Oyster, Pink Oyster, or Golden Oyster mushrooms, the kit is simply covered in Avowed branding.
However, the partnership goes a bit deeper than that. Via a free 3D printing file available with the kit and on the North Spore website, you can print out a scale model of the bears from Avowed. You can then grow your mushrooms from within the model to make it look like the fungal bears from the game.
If you’re not worried about becoming a Clicker, these mushroom kits look quite pretty and don’t require much work. All you need to do is cut open the box and occasionally spray it with some water. It’s also a great alternative for those of us that just can’t seem to take care of a plant.
While this kit may not be able to help you change your appearance in Avowed, like many fans have been requesting, it seems like a unique collectible for fans, especially if you may get that bear 3D printed.
