Summary
For many RPG players, the screen we’ll be staring at the most is the character creator. In the past, games would give us the bare minimum with these, but increasingly, we’re seeing them support a range of features, letting us craft the exact character we’re after. Now, it looks likeAvowedcould improve on Obsidian’s previous offerings, as the studio shows off some of its creations.
Over on Twitter,Obsidianshows off various Envoys - the title for player characters - it has made in Avowed’s character creator. Included in the mix, they’ve shared some “cursed” Envoys too, for those of you who like to play as the wildest creations you can come up with.

Obsidian Shows Off Some Of The Envoys You Can Make In Avowed
It looks like Avowed will let us be everything from pretty, to, uh, not-so-pretty
Obsidian shared a bunch of Envoys in two waves, one for the cursed, and another for the non-cursed variety. The less fortunate bunch show off a lot of the Godlike features we can give our characters, which as you might expect, are so unique that NPCs might react to them. Youcantoggle the appearance of these features off, although it won’t stop NPCs from noticing that you’re Godlike.
It won’t be long until we can see what the character creator is like for ourselves. Avowed is set to launch on February 18, anddespite fears that there would be a delay, it does look likeObsidian is sticking to this date.

If both Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 stick to plan, then we’re getting two Obsidian RPGs in one year. The Outer Worlds 2 doesn’t have a firm date just yet, but it wasrecently revealed to have a 2025 launch window, whenever that ends up being.
