Summary

Baldur’s Gate 3isn’t available on mobile. You can play it on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S. It even works on Steam Deck with some tinkering. Yet there’s a free-to-play ‘port’ available on the App Store right now.

As reported byVideoGamer, it’s a fake app designed to trick fans into splashing out money in the hopes of playing their favourite game on the go, using official screenshots with a mobile UI hastily pasted on top to create an air of legitimacy.

Fake Baldur’s Gate 3 mobile listing on the iOS App Store.

An air of legitimacy that is immediately undercut by the one-star rating and developer. You can getDivinity - Original Sin 2for iOS, and it’s listed by Larian Studios itself, not a third-party developer. Baldur’s Gate 3, however, has the suffix “Mobile Turuk”, and is published by “Dmytro Turuk”. Not suspicious at all.

It’s Not Technically Free-To-Play, Either

Baldur’s Gate 3 is billed as a free-to-play app on iOS, unlike Divinity - Original Sin 2, which is sold for $24.99. So, how is it a scam? Well, once you download the game, you’re asked to pay $29.99 for a 30-day subscription to unlock access.

Even if you don’t purchase this subscription and see through all of the glaring red flags and decide to uninstall, the app’s terms of service reveal that it collects private user data such asyour IP address.
