Summary

Baldur’s Gate 3has a whopping number ofchoices and tough decisions that you may make, sometimes radically altering where the game goes or who you adventure alongside. It stands to reason thatnot every single one of these choices is beneficial to the player, and almost every Baldur’s Gate 3 player will have run into a situation where their choice gave them a rather undesired outcome.

Fans recently discussed this very situation ina Reddit post by a user called Ok-Anything-70on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit earlier today, sharing the choices they made that led to their biggest and worst regrets. It seems as though Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are a regretful lot, as over 100 people were keen to share the whoopsies they made on their travels.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Fans Share The Choices They Regret The Most

Ok-Anything-70 kicks the conversation off with quite possibly the worst regret you could have - killing Us and the Owlbear cub before realizing they could be party members. Quite a lot of people have been through that traumatic experience, including one of our own, so if you still don’t know how to get the Owlbear cub on your side, then you’d best read up before going any further.

A user called MurasakiKhadiel had one of the more entertaining and relatable regrets, that being the choice to end their life after they became a gross tentacled Mind Flayer. They explain that they chose to end it all, hoping that their party members would actually reference their death to their friend, who was playing with them. Unfortunately, their party members “acted as if I never existed”, so a pretty abysmal failure right there.

Another popular regret comes from a user called Scar_Knight12, who admits that theyrushed through the Githyanki creche before grabbing the Githyanki egg. They’re now fully considering getting a Disguise Self scroll and going back through it disguised as a Githyanki just to grab that egg, though they are also being tempted by many horrible BG3 players to just slaughter everyone in there.

There are plenty of other quite entertaining regrets in the thread, but we’d be here all day if we were to list them all. My personal favorite is Mouthisamouth’s regret, who killed Barcus because they didn’t like how theyasked them to cut them down from the windmill, before realizing how much story content he’s involved in. Let’s be honest, it does feel satisfying to fling him from the windmill though, right?
