Summary

Playing asThe Dark UrgeinBaldur’s Gate 3is a great way to mix up the game when you’re on a second - or fourth, or fifth - playthrough. It gives your character a prewritten backstory that you uncovered throughout the game, and also makes it incredibly easy to kill off some major characters early on if you’re not careful.

But if you’ve beaten the game as The Dark Urge already, it’s easy to cheat your way out of the various curveballs it throws at you. So, if you want to make things harder on yourself, this might be the perfect mod for you, as it makes The Dark Urge a constant menace.

So, while you get your own character back, you might very well knock out a party member in return. It certainly adds some more risk to each encounter and might mix up how you play, as you desperately try to keep your Dark Urge alive. It also feeds into the idea that The Dark Urge is constantly on the verge of snapping, as we see throughout their story.
