Summary

Baldur’s Gate 3’s characters are amazing, but they can require a lot of micromanaging. Maybe you just want to worry about your own build and blast through some fights solo. You can, in theory, do this, but you’ll probably have a rough time of it, especially on higher difficulties.

Larian’s last game,Divinity: Original Sin 2, did have a solution for this. The Lone Wolf talent gave you a stat boost if you were playing on your own or with just one other companion, rather than a party of four. Now, a fan has added this into Baldur’s Gate 3, letting you take on the Absolute in the same way.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Modder Adds Lone Wolf Feat

Because who needs companions when you can just rely on yourself?

Lone Wolf Featby Nexus Mods user Goonsack (yeah, really) works as long as you have two or fewer party members, so just don’t exceed that and you’ll get the benefits.

“You are a true sigma, the one who howls,” writes the mod author. “While in a party of two or less you gain an extra action, bonus action, a 30% maximum hit point increase and receive halved damage from all sources. Additionally, you gain a +4 bonus in two Abilities and Proficiency Bonus in their respective Saving Throws.”

This is not the only mod that aims to recreate the Lone Wolf experience in Baldur’s Gate 3. As we covered back when the game first launched, another player accomplished this by focusing on levelling up solo players fasterthan they would normally. It also increases the level cap to 20 (through multiclassing), so that gives you another way to approach solo playthroughs if that interests you.
