Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is a long and complex game. Since it is extremely realistic in pretty much every way, you have to think carefully about everything you do. That also means you’ll likely make some mistakes in the early hours, especially when exploring the overwhelming open world.

Some beginners tips will help drastically. By knowing where to go when you first get access to the whole of the Trosky region, and what to focus on, you’ll be able to ensure that you’re as strong and experienced as you need to be once the time comes.

Complete Combat Training

The combat is potentially the hardest gameplay feature to learn in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While it is certainly clunky, and being surrounded is difficult to overcome, there are techniques to learn that really help.

A couple of hours into the game, once the open world of the Trosky region opens up, you’ll have the chance totake on the Combat Training side quests. There are a couple of parts to complete, and they’re both extremely useful.

You can also check out some useful combat tips in the game’s pause menu. That will teach you how to do a Master Strike.

They teach you the basics of using combos in combat, as well as some more advanced techniques that help you take out enemies more quickly. Be sure tohead to the quest’s location and complete the combat tutorialsas soon as you can. You’ll be happy you did later in the game.

Get Your Horse Back

In the Trosky region, the first main region in the game, getting around by foot can be frustrating. Getting anywhere takes ages and you’ll often run into bandits that kill you and cause you to lose all of the progress you just made.

Whileyou can steal a horseand head out into the forests to complete quests, the best thing you can do isget Pebbles back. Thankfully, you can do that whenever you want.

If youhead to the town of Semine, you’ll be able to talk to the stable owner there and speak to him about the grey horse in the field. If youpass the skill check and persuade him to give you your horse back, you’ll be able to ride off on Pebbles. Now, you can call Pebbles to you at any time and he counts as your horse.

While you’ll be able to buy better horses later on, stick with Pebbles. If you ride him for long enough, he’ll get a big stat boost that makes him as good as the best horses in the game. That’ll save you thousands of Groschen.

Wash Regularly

Dialogue skill checks are a big part of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You need to have the right stats to persuade NPCs to help you or do what you want them to do. However, how clean you and your clothes are is just as important.

Whenever you’ve travelled through muddy areas or been in a fight, you’ll need to wash so that you’re well presented when talking to people. You have a few options: you canwash at troughs around towns, wash at laundry spots by lakes, or head to baths.

The latter option will clean you the best, but you’ll have to pay for the service.Washing at troughs is the quickest, and you’ll find them outside all taverns, but only your face will be washed. What you choose depends on the time you have and how much Groschen you’re able to spare to get clean.

Get Mutt Back

At the start of the game, you’ll have your trusty dog alongside you. However, he runs off when you and your team are attacked by the lake. Mutt is very useful in combat, so you’ll want to get him back as soon as possible.

You shouldfollow and complete the Mutt side questas soon as you can. It’s a long one that involves aCarrot-loving sheep, a horse you need to save, and an archery competition, but it’s worth sticking with to get Mutt back.

Make Money For Quests

Throughout Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there’s a constant cycle of money. You need to complete side quests to get money, but you also need money to complete some side quests. For example, you need money to find the lost hunter when looking for Mutt in Trosky.

Therefore, you’ll need to earn money in other ways. The two best ways to do that arelooting and Alchemy. If youkill guards and bandits, be sure to loot their bodies for Groschen. Do that often enough and you’ll have plenty of funds to complete side quests. you may alsopick flowers and make potions, which you can then sell for a pretty penny. The bonus of that is the process isn’t illegal either.

Stealing from the dead is considered a sin, and is therefore illegal in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Don’t let people see you stealing from the dead, unless it’s guards during battle.

Make Friends

Life will be a lot easier for Henry if he can make some friends. During the early hours of the game, try not to annoy too many people. The nicer and more helpful you are, the more likely NPCs are to help you in return.

Reputation is tracked on a town and regional basis as well as by individual NPC. If you have a bad reputation in a town, locals will be suspicious of everything you do.

Whether it besaying the right thing, paying a fair price, never stealing, or looking presentable, almost everything you do will impact your reputation. The more friends you have in Trosky and Kuttenberg the better.

Always Haggle

Whether you’re buying and selling items, verify you haggle over the price. You’ll never meet a merchant who isn’t willing to haggle. You won’t be able to save a massive amount of money, but every little helps.

When you’ve selected the items you want to sell or buy, choose haggle andselect a price between your best price and the market price. Then, after the merchant counters, offer another price between your last offer and their counter. They should accept and you’ll get near enough the best price you could. Do this every single time.

Knock Down Nests With Stones

As you walk and ride around the Trosky region, you’ll often see a small notification pop up saying ‘nest discovered.’ Normally, you’d just ignore them, but they’re worth looking closely for in the early hours of the game.

You need to crouch before you may throw a stone. For some reason, Henry can’t throw one while standing up straight.

If youthrow a stone at one, which is easier said than done, you’ll often find helpful items inside them. You can get eggs to sell or cook, and you may even find things like badges for Dice hidden away in them.
