Summary
Nearly a quarter of a century after their original launch, Tomb Raider 4-6 have finally been remastered by Aspyr. These games bring thebrutal difficultyand old-school design philosophies ofTomb Raiderinto the modern era. While there are some compromises, like modern controls and a load screen at game overs, you won’t get through the games without learning the way they push against you.
Of course, if you’d rather just cheat your way through the games, that’s fine too. Maybe you just want to relive a certain level from your childhood; maybe you want to obtain a key item that’s just too frustrating to acquire manually. In that case, we’ve got you covered.
Cheats cannot be used in New Game+, which presents an even more difficult version of each title.
8Level Skip (Angel Of Darkness)
Unlike The Last Revelation and Chronicles, Angel of Darkness lacked cheats in its original version. The remastered version, however, adds some cheats for fans who want to get to the actual tomb raiding rather than playing an almost point-and-click opening section in Paris.
To skip levels, pause the game and hold down the Duck, Look, Action and Down buttons on your controller or keyboard; unlike the other two games, the inputs depend on your mapping. Then release them and input these commands sequentially: Action, Up, Walk, and Action.
7Weapons And Health Items (Angel Of Darkness)
Angel of Darkness lacked the infinite ammo and generous health pickups of the previous two games, opting for a more adventure-game system of scrounging for supplies.
If you’d rather just get all the firepower at once, you may use this cheat. Pause the game and hold down the Draw Weapon, Look, Action and Left keys. Then release them and press the walk button three times. You’ll get all the weapons in the game along with ten health packs.
Angel of Darkness is the only classic Tomb Raider title to lack the infinite ammo pistols.
6Level Skip (The Last Revelation)
This cheat code was present in the original version of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, though it would crash the game once you reached theinterconnected Cairo levels. The remaster fixes this, and you may now use this cheat to your heart’s content. For this cheat code, have Lara facing exactly north.
Switch to tank controls and stand against a wall to make it easier; the compass in your inventory will turn transparent if you’re doing it correctly. Open the inventory, select the sunglasses and hold down the H, E, L, P keys for a few seconds on keyboard or press all the triggers and bumpers along with the up button on the D-pad of your controller. Close the inventory and the next level will load.
5Weapons And Health Items (The Last Revelation)
If you want a refill on your medipacks, or want to play around with the various weapons in Tomb Raider 4, you can use this cheat code. It also gives you infinite ammo for all your weapons.
Face exactly north and open your inventory. Select the small medipack and hold down the G, U, N, S keys for a few seconds. If you’re using a controller, simply hold down all the triggers and bumpers while pressing up on the D-pad, with the small medipack selected. If you don’t have a small medipack, you can’t activate this cheat.
4Key Items (The Last Revelation)
The level skip cheat in the Last Revelation is very useful, but if you’re using it to get to a singular level you’ll beunable to complete the levelwhile lacking key items you would have gotten in previous locations on a normal playthrough.
To fix this, face exactly north and open your inventory. Select the large medipack and hold down the B, I, T, S keys on keyboard. If you’re playing with a controller, simply hold down all the triggers and bumpers while pressing up on the D-pad while hovering over the large medipack. You’ll get all the key items in the game.
This cheat will also give you Von Croy’s broken glasses, a useless item that will stay in your inventory for the rest of the game.
3Weapons And Health Items (Chronicles)
Aspyr gives, and Aspyr takes away. Somewhere during the process of remastering Tomb Raider: Chronicles, the developer must have realized that facing exactly north to input a cheat code is extremely frustrating. As such, Chronicles does not require Lara to face north to input cheats. However, these cheats do not work if you’re on keyboard only. You willneed a controllerto input them.
To get all the weapons with infinite ammo and medipacks, open the inventory and select the sunglasses. Hold down all the triggers and bumpers on your controller and press up.
2Key Items (Chronicles)
Due to its episodic nature, Chronicles doesn’t punish you as much as The Last Revelation for skipping levels. If you wish to cheat and get all the key items without solving puzzles or undergoing the demanding platforming segments, however, you can use this code.
Open the inventory, select the sunglasses and hold down all the bumpers and triggers on your controller. Press the down button and close the inventory. Open it again to find all your key items.
1Level Skip (Chronicles)
While it’s seen its fair share of criticism, Tomb Raider: Chronicles is actuallya rather underrated title. One of its best-received portions is the Ireland level; some veteran raiders were looking forward to this remaster simply for the Ireland levels alone.
To skip levels and get to the section you want in Chronicles, open the inventory and select the sunglasses. Hold the left bumper, up key and press X on your controller. Bear in mind that it must be X regardless of its actual positioning on the controller, be it a PlayStation, Xbox or Switch input.
