Summary
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is an often tough game, with a heavy focus on immersive sim and survival mechanics. If you’re not prepared, you’re going to have a rough time dealing with gameplay mechanics such as limited saves, brutal combat, and managing your character’s health.
Having certain items stocked at all times can make a huge difference. Some of these might not be as important during the early portions, but once you’re deeper into the game, you’ll realize just how important they really are, whether it’s for healing your character or repairing your gear.

8Belt And Pouch
From these two body armor items, the belt lets you hold more weapons and be able to quickly switch between them using the D-Pad on consoles, and by pressing the B button on PC. On the other hand, the pouch quickly lets you consume food and other healing items without having to open the menu.
They’re not as important in the first few hours of the game when you’ll likely be limited to just one type of weapon, but they become pretty important later once you’ve got multiple weapons, playstyles, and healing items, and need to quickly consume or change items, usually during combat.

7Dried Food
Normal food items in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 have a durability meter, and they can rot and go bad after a few days. If you consume them in this state, there’s a good chance of getting poisoned.
Hence, dried foods are your best bet as they have infinite durability. A lot of food items in the game can be dried by using the drying rack that’s available in every town and settlement, and you should stock up on water and other such items that don’t expire.

6Herbs
Given the game’s brutal nature, potions play a big rolein your survivability. They usually require multiple herbs, and it’s always a good idea to collect as many as you can, even if you don’t immediately need them.
Herbs are planted generously in the game’s world, but they also have a durability timer like food items. You can similarly use a drying rack to keep them fresh infinitely. There are also plenty of perks in the game that give bonuses for having multiple herbs in your inventory, so as long as you’re not close to your inventory limit, it’s recommended to stockpile them.

5Repair Kits
Repairing your weapons and armor can be really expensive in the game, as blacksmiths have rather high charges for these repairs. Instead, it’s best to buy and keep these kits with you at all times.
Not only are you no longer dependent on others to repair your items, but these can make a big difference if you need quick repairs on the fly before heading into combat.

4Lockpicks
You’ll come across a bunch of locked chests in Kingdom Come 2: Deliverance. A lot of these contain items that are worth stealing, so always have multiple lockpicks with you. Stealing and selling items is one of the best ways to make a lot of money early on, and this strategy can get you loaded pretty quickly.
In the early game, most of these are available at various merchants, and not found lying around as commonly in the game’s world. The lockpicking game can be a little difficult at first, so it’s recommended to save and reload the game a few times and prioritizegetting good at lockpicking.

3Savior Schnapps
Other than sleeping in your own bed, Savior Schnapps is one of the threeways to save your game. If you don’t want to fast travel to a certain location just to save your game, then crafting and consuming these items becomes extremely important.
There are three types of Savior Schnapps in the game. The weak version only saves the game, while the normal version also heals ten health and gives you +1 to Strength, Agility, and Vitality for three minutes. Lastly, the strong version heals 20 health and gives you +2 to Strength, Agility, and Vitality for five minutes.

There is a third way of saving your game almost anytime outside of combat - you can save and exit to the main menu. Reloading a save from the menu and getting back into the game takes about ten seconds on current-gen consoles, while PC load times are dependent on your hardware, making this a decent alternative.
2Bandages
Getting injured during combat or falling from a height can net you several injuries including bleeding, and bandages are the only way to heal them. After getting injured badly, you won’t be able to sprint.
If you don’t have any bandages on you, then you’ll have to spend a long time walking to a settlement to buy them from a merchant. If you choose to fast travel while bleeding, you might end up losing a lot of health in the process and die. Hence, bandages become one of the most important things to always keep with you.

1Marigold Decoction
Marigold Decoction is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s health potion. It’s the only item in the game that starts to immediately heal you, unlike other food items that require you to sleep for a few hours after consuming them to take effect.
This makes the decoction perhaps the single most important item to always keep stocked, as the game’s difficult combat will usually leave you lacking in vitality, and you’ll often need to heal immediately and not have the time to find a bed to rest on.
