Summary
The Space-Time Smackdown expansion inPokemon Pocketbrings cards from the Sinnoh region, and there are some excellent additions to the Lightning decks as well. These cards work well with Pikachu ex or Pachirisu ex decks. Lightning cards may not be as highly damaging as other types, but they can scrape off an opponent’s HP early in the battle, giving you a significant advantage.
These cards are formidable whether you are planning on making a Sinnoh-themed deck or if you are looking to make your existing Lightning decks more formidable. Cards like Magnezone also synergize with cards from the Genetic Apex booster packs. Some cards like Magneton and Electrode have received their new variants as well.

7Magneton
The Magneton card in Space-Time Smackdown is quick to set up, as it only requires two Lightning energy. This would allow you to use the Lightning Ball move that deals 50 damage. This much damage is enough to take down the basic Pokemon cards that an opponent might be preparing for their main ex card.
It also has massive 80 HP, which gives you more room to set up your other cards as well, as Magneton can take up some damage. If you want to save points, you may always retreat it at no cost by using the X Speed card. You can evolve it into a Magnezone later to finish the battle if need be.

6Electrode
Electrode is similar to Magneton in attacking, as its Rolling Attack also does 50 damage to an opponent’s active Pokemon. It has 80 HP as a Stage One evolution card, which is decent enough to tank an opponent’s attack at that point. It’s also much quicker to prepare, as it only needs one Lightning Energy.
However, it might be a tad bit squishier, as you may have lost some HP from when your card was still in its basic Voltorb form. As Voltorb’s attack causes it to sustain ten damage, you are in trouble if you cannot heal it first.

5Rotom
For a basic Pokemon card, Rotom has good HP and great attack power. It uses only one energy to use its Assault Laser move, which you can use to scrape off the damage from an opponent early in the battle. As your opponent’s strong cards will be unprepared to attack at the start of a match, your Rotom won’t go down that easily.
If any card of your opponent has a tool card equipped, you can deal 30 additional damage totaling up to 50. This also makes Rotom an excellent counter for Pachirisu ex decks who rely on Pokemon tools to get additional damage.

4Luxray
Luxray is a strong Lightning Pokemon, but you will lose all energy after using its attack. Managing its energy can get challenging as the Volt Bolt move costs three Lightning Energy; however, it might be helpful if you are trying to defeat an opponent’s low HP ex cards.
You might also get the break you need by using attack boosting cards such as Giovanni to finish off an opponent. If you have a Volkner card in your hand, you can attach two additional Lightning energy cards from your discarded cards. Before you evolve into Luxray, it’s easier to use your Shinx card tobuild up some energy, as Shinx can prevent an opponent’s attacks if you are lucky.

3Magnezone
Magnezone requires one Lightning and two Colorless to use its move Thunder Blast to deal 110 damage. It’s also slightly inconvenient as it discards an energy after using its attack. So, to utilize it well, preparing it early is the key. It works well inPikachu exand Pachirisu ex decks, as these only require two Lightning energy to attack.
Magnezone is much easier to use with the Genetic Apex version of Magneton that will grant it additional energy every turn. You can protect your Magneton with defensive tools and build up energy safely and then evolve your card.

You can also get additional energy using the Dawn card, and it doesn’t have to be Lightning due to Magnezone’s energy requirements.
2Pachirisu ex
Pachirisu ex is not as strong asother ex cards in Space-Time Smackdownexpansion. It has low health and the attack power isn’t great either. However, the positive side of using it is that it requires only two Lightning Energy to attack, so you will be able to prepare it very quickly. If you use it with Cyrus, you can also call an opponent’s benched Pokemon which you can beat with less damage.
You need to attach a tool to the card to deal double damage. Sometimes, it might take you longer to get a tool card in your hand, depending on your luck. It works well if your opponent still doesn’t have their card prepared to attack. Using Pachirisu is very risky near the end of the battle, especially if the opponent has a strong active Pokemon.

We recommend using the Giant Cape tool with Pachirisu to increase its HP by 20.
1Electivire
Electivire is a highly damaging Lightning card, especially if you have extra Lightning energy attached to it. It deals 40 damage when you have two energy attached, but if you double that amount, you get extra 80 damage. Cards that aren’t ex, but damage well are always recommended as you won’t have to risk two points even if it’s defeated.
Getting extra energy isn’t hard either with the Space-Time Smackdown Electabuzz card. You can use the charge move to gain additional energy by using the Charge move before evolving it into Electivire. If you are still short on energy, you can also use the Lt. Surge attacks to transfer the Lightning energy to your other Pokemon on the bench.
