The Swords stat inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2should be your focus if your playstyle consists of using one-handed weapons, which is usually the most common equipment for the majority of players.

This stat applies to all weapons in the game that aren’t polearms or heavy weapons, having a pretty expansive usability. Leveling up the Swords stat increases your Swordsmanship skill, which dictates the speed and damage of your attacks, as well as the likelihood of an enemy blocking it. With these perks, melee combat should be so much easier.

8Swordmaker’s Wisdom

The Swordmaker’s Wisdom perk might be on the lower side of the best perks in this stat, but it is pretty useful if Blacksmithing is your thing. While crafting weapons and armor, your Craftsmanship stat will be three levels higher, letting you craft certain items that you otherwise couldn’t.

It also makes it easier for you to craft high-quality items, as the mini-game will now be far more tolerant of your little errors and imperfections. On top of this, your swords will permanently receive 25 percent less damage. If you’re tired of having to regularly repair your weapons, this perk might be worth it just for this bonus itself.

7Arm Of Beowulf

Arm of Beowulf is something that’s more suited to pro players, as it lets you use a longsword with a shield. There’s a downside to this, though, as your attacks will be considerably slower and weaker and also cost more stamina.

The upside is that you can use a shield to greatly defend yourself, and this perk makes sense if you’re far more focused on defense rather than offense. Another upside here is that this now works with any perks that apply when using a shield.

This perk only applies when using a shield or a torch, on the other hand. If you’re using just a longsword, Henry will default to using it with two hands, and normal stats will apply.

6Slice And Dice

Slice and Dice increases the damage of continuous sword strikes that successfully hit the enemy. As long as the enemy doesn’t block any of your attacks or performs a dodge to get out of the way, it is considered an unbroken series of attacks. It can also be broken if you take too long between your attacks or if the enemy wounds you.

This perk differs from the normal combos and is also easier to pull off than them, as it doesn’t require you to perform these sword strikers in a particular manner. You can just spam the same attack over and over again to get this perk’s buff, provided that every attack connects.

5Magister Dimicator

Magister Dimicator gives you a hefty +5 bonus to your Swordsmanship when landing a combo, drastically increasing your expertise in this field. With this bonus, your attacks will be faster and deal more damage, and it will also be harder for enemies to block them. This perk’s effect lasts for a decent 30 seconds and can be activated multiple times in a swordfight.

This perk goes extremely well with Tendon Slicer from the same perk list, as that one significantly reduces your opponent’s strength and agility after each successful combo that you perform, making it much easier for you to kill them.

4Gladiator

Gladiator comes highly recommended if you prefer to use one-handed weapons such as short swords, hunting swords, and sabers, as this gives you a massive +5 bonus to your Sword Fighting skill.

Sword Fighting dictates various aspects of combat, such as your skill in attacking, parrying, and clinching, as well as dictating your likelihood of pulling off successful combos, and this makes you much, much tougher in combat.

You can alsocombine this with another perk, the Back Alley Skirmisher from the Thievery stat, to get a 10 percent damage bonus as long as you’re fighting with any one-handed weapon.

3Master Strike

Master Strike is one of the rare perks in the game that isn’t earned by spending a perk point but rather by completing a side quest. To do this, you’ll need to train with Master Tomcat at the Nomad Camp. It’s not easy to defeat him, and you’ll need quite some skill and experience with the game’s combat system.

After you unlock it, though, you get one of the most important sword mechanics in the game, the Master Strike itself. To perform it, you need to attack at the same time the enemy does, but from the opposite direction. This acts as a counter and stops their attack while you deal damage to them instead. After you master this skill, it can easily becomeone of your greatest strengthsin most combat scenarios.

2Opening Strike 2

The Opening Strike is a very useful combat mechanic that comes in two parts. For this to activate, you’ll need to land a successful hit on an enemy’s uncovered zone, which is basically their weak spot.

After this, they suffer a stat debuff, making it harder for them to block your attacks. This also drastically increases your chances of landing successful combos. The second part of this perk further enhances the effect of the debuff on an enemy.

The Master Strike itself is considered an Opening Strike, and you get the same buff from performing it, but you still need to unlock at least the first Opening Strike perk.

1Showtime

Showtime quickly recovers some of your stamina immediately after you perform either a sword combo or a master strike. Neither of these is as difficult to perform, and this doesn’t have a limit and can be chained again and again for constant recovery in combat, making this a pretty major perk once you get the hang of it.

This perk works with various longswords and one-handed swords, basically, everything that isn’t a heavy weapon or a polearm. Given how important stamina management isfor combat survival, this might just be the most important perk in the entire Swords stat and one that can be easily exploited.
