Call of Duty: Black Ops 6isn’t in a great place right now.Rampant cheating,multiple bugs, andmuch-maligned skill-based matchmakinghave causedthe game’s player count to drop by 50 percentin just two months.
Alongside the aforementioned issues, Black Ops 6’s microtransactions and cosmetics have caused serious discourse, with one of the additions so bad that players are warning fellow gamers not to purchase it due to “intended behavior” that makes it unusable.
The IDead Bundle was one ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6’s first. It includes three Weapon Blueprints, an Operator Skin, and a handful of other cosmetics. However, while the bundle has been around for a while, players have begun to tell others to steer clear.
On the Black Ops 6subreddit, user Fat_Stacks10 posted athreadwith an image and a PSA that says, “Do not buy the IDEAD bundle.” The user details how one of the blueprints in the bundle makes a weapon unusable, as the effects it displays blocks your vision when firing and aiming down sights. When looking at the image they shared, Fat_Stacks10’s plight is apparent as almost their whole view through their sight has been blocked off.
The issue was so bad for the player that they reached out toActivisionasking for a refund, with the company refusing it as “this was intended behavior.”
It’s bad faith from Activision, and the latest issue in a line of complaints that have plagued the game and its cosmetics. Players had multiple issues with the recent Black Ops 6 x Squid Game 2 crossover, includingcosmetics that could only be used in 50 percent of matches. Alongside this, players have been disappointed with thequality and tact of some of the game’s bundles, and have complained aboutthe staggering cost if they were to purchase everything in the game.
