Marvelhas a very busy year ahead between movies on the big screen and TV shows on Disney Plus, and its first big stop hits cinemas this Valentine’s Day in the form of Captain America: Brave New World. To celebrate its imminent arrival, Marvel has teamed back up with Loungefly to create a Brave New World collection featuring a mini backpack unlike any you will have seen from Loungefly before.
Considering how unique and creative Loungefly’s backpack designs tend to be, that’s quite the claim. However, as innovative as some of its other mini backpacks have been, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one with retractable wings. Sam Wilson might be Cap' now, but he’s bringing the wings from his Falcon days with him, and this new backpack celebrating his solo movie debut as Captain America reflects that.
The Brave New World mini backpack’s base design has been made to look like Wilson’s new Cap' suit, and honestly, that alone would have been a pretty fantastic Captain America Loungefly backpack. However, its designers have gone a step further and attached wings to the back of it. The wings can remain tucked away so you don’t have to walk sideways through doors while wearing it, but can be deployed at a moment’s notice to make you feel a little more like an Avenger.

Loungefly’s Brave New World collection isn’t made up of a single backpack. There’s a crossbody bag as well, and that has wings too. The bag has been designed to look like Cap’s shield rather than his armor, and the wings are attached to the strap so that they’re tucked away when the bag’s not in use and on show when you’re wearing it over your shoulder.
Rounding out the new collection -which is available now at Loungefly, by the way- is the Brave New World wallet. This one doesn’t have wings, but it would be pretty difficult to fit it in your pocket if it did. Designed to match the mini backpack, the wallet is also modeled after the Captain America suit Anthony Mackie’s Wilson will wear in the MCU.
