Summary

Over the weekend, something rather incredible happened. No,it wasn’t John Cena finally turning heel, though that was also pretty cool. But rather, a slew of previously delistedActivisiontitles, includingthe extremely rare Deadpool game, as well as bothMarvel Ultimate Alliancetitles had brand-newSteamkeys available for sale.

Naturally, the games quickly sold out, with many fans quickly pouncing on the opportunity to get these previously delisted titles. At the same time, a user on Reddit shared that the original MUA became a recommendation for them on Steam.

Of course, nothing happened when they clicked on the game, seeing as it’s unavailable. But it’s another interesting development for Activision’s titles to see the light of day once again.

There Are Just Too Many Coincidences

Back in November, the first two Marvel Ultimate Alliance titles, plus Deadpool, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and the trilogy of Transformers titles all received backend updates on Steam. To this point, nothing has come out of those developments, but the addition of “added store_screenshot” did pique the interest of eagle-eyed fans.

These developments follow-up rumors from late August that Microsoft was actively working on a way to bring back the titles to digital storefronts. At the time, insider Shpeshal_Nick said, “Microsoft is trying to work through the process of getting those games relicensed.”

Of course, the finding of unused key codes isn’t particularly noteworthy, as other games were found that aren’t Activision properties. It’s the fact that once again the games are surfacing on Steam, seemingly corroborating past rumors and developments regarding a potential return. In other words, where there is smoke, there is likely fire.
