DigimonStory Time Stranger has been officially revealed at today’s PlayStation State of Play after pre-orders were accidentally listed for earlier today at GameStop.

The game, which is being developed by Bandai Namco, didn’t receive a release date but is set for release at some point in 2025.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger Officially Announced At PlayStation’s State Of Play

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is the latest game in the Digimon Story set of games, and the first since 2017’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hackers Memory. Time Stranger will be the sixth game in the Story series, with the first four games releasing on the Nintendo DS andCyber Sleuthand Hackers Memory releasing on the PS Vita, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The story seems to follow a similar pattern to previous games in the story series, in which the human world and Digital World crossover, with players teaming up and battling with the Digital Monsters in an RPG setting.

The PlayStationBlogdescribes the title as, saying: “For fans of previous Digimon Story games, this entry features a digital world that’s never been seen in previous titles, an improved battle system, and fan-favorite characters like Agumon and Omnimon, as well as other Digimon in brand new roles,” adding, “For fans of JRPGs, the game has an immersive story propelled by unique humans and Digimon characters, as well as a deep, strategic growth system for the Digimon you collect. Players that like to optimize their parties and character stats will have plenty of party combos to experiment with!”

The GameStop pre-order page, which has now been removed, listed the game as appearing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, so expect an official announcement that it’s coming to Microsoft’s console any time soon.
