If there’s one thingDragon Ball: Sparking! Zeromanaged to do extremely well,besides having a massive roster, wasits emphasis on “What If” scenarios. In particular,fans will no doubt point to the creation of Gohan Black as a chief example of what was made possible in-game.
Since its release, Dragon Ball fans have been taking the “What If” concept to heart by creating various downloadable mods that have brought the likesof a Goku/Gohan fusion, as well asa Cell (Krillin Absorbed) variant into the game. That said, one fan took things to the next level by introducing a massive scenario — “What If Trunks and Goten fused with the Potara earings?”
The end result is Trunkten, and boy is it awesome.
Peanut Butter Jelly Time
Over on Nexus Mods, creator WiseConcept took an original concept by a Dragon Ball fan and turned it into a fully playable character in Sparking Zero. Trunkten, AKA the fused being of Trunks and Goten, has four different forms, including Super Saiyan 1-3, along with a traditional base form.
Whereas Gotenks took on more of Goten’s look, Trunkten takes on Trunks' iconic look, complete with purple hair and a green gi. It is just like how Vegito is more Vegeta than he is Goku. Of course, it’s safe to assume that where Gotenks is a sassy and cocky warrior, Trunkten is likely equally cocky but with a flair for power.
Unfortunately, it appears that this is more of a cosmetic mod, as it looks like Trunkten has the moveset of Gotenks, including the various ghosts. Still, given the original concept, which was shared more than a year ago, this is one faithful creation.And given that Teen Goten and Trunks were seemingly snubbed from the Super Hero DLC pack, this is more than a fair consolation prize.
