Summary

Since releasing in October of last year,Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zerofans have been eagerly awaitingthe release of its post-launch DLC, specifically the DLCbased on Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero —the 2022 film. And while modshave done a great job of tiding fans over, there’s nothing quite like a fresh batch of characters.

Taking to social media on Friday,Bandai Namcorevealed the first wave of Sparking Zero DLC, and it’s massive. The Super Hero focused DLC pack will introduce 11 new characters into the game, including the long-awaited debuts of Beast Mode Gohan and Orange Piccolo.

On top of the 11 characters, an exclusive costume will also be part of the pack, alongside three new Custom Battles. It’s impossible to say exactly what the battles will focus on, but the end screenshot depicts Gohan (Super Hero) vs. Goku, a Cell Max battle, and Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 meeting Dr. Gero’s Androids.

Of course, it won’t be long before fans can get their Beast Gohan fix, as the DLC has been given a January 23 release date, which is next Thursday. Early Access owners can dive in on January 20, or Monday, making this a quick turnaround.

At this point, it’s unclear if the Gohan and Piccolo character slots, which make up a grand total of eight of the 11 members, will be their own characters or serve as transformations for existing characters. That said, oddly absent from the pack is Pan, along with the aged-up versions of Goten and Trunks and their mistimed Fat Gotenks fusion.

A New Mode Is Also Coming

The DLC won’t be the only addition, as Bandai Namco also revealed that “Legendary Warrior Face-Off” will be a new mode for the existing game.Per a post on Twitter, the mode will act as follows:

For a limited time, challenge yourself against characters with sky-high power levels. First up: Broly!

Tests will be conducted ahead of a second matchup, though the foe of the second battle has not been revealed. Not much is known about the mode, but it could be some sort of raid-like boss battle against high-powered enemies. Ultimately, only time will tell what the mode is or how Bandai Namco plans on expanding it.
