That said, outside of a flashy 54-second teaser and a unique subtitle, things on the Dragon Quest front have been rather quiet. That’s why we can’t blame you if you’ve managed to forget. But fear not, series creator Yuji Horii says not worry, the game still exists.

As transcribed by Gematsu, Horii said, “There are still a lot of things I can’t talk about, but for now, I can say that we’re working on DQ I & II Remake, and working hard on DQ 12.

“Hopefully, we’ll be able to share more info little by little.”

As small as the batch of information is, it should bring some calm to fans who have been wondering where the game is.

Things On The Dragon Quest 12 Front Have Been Oddly Quiet

As mentioned up top, DQ12 was originally revealed in 2021. What’s more, Square Enix affirmed that it had plans to release the game simultaneously worldwide, a major plus for those outside of Japan.

Shortly after,Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda indicated that the game is “taking into account the next 10 to 20 years of the Dragon Quest series.”He also hinted that the game would shake up the formula of the franchise, though the iconic art style would remain.

The last bit of news related to the franchise came last April,when it was reported that the lead producer of the Dragon Quest series, Yu Miyake, was stepping down from his position and heading up Square’s mobile games division. Otherwise, fans have had to remain contentwith releases like Infinity Strashandthe recently released HD 2D remake of DQ3. Hopefully, information can come out sooner rather than later.
