Summary
FromSoftware has pumped out banger after banger, changing the way the industry makes RPGs. It’s not everyone who can create a whole new genre, but under Miyazaki,FromSoftwarecreated the popular SoulsBorne genre.
WithElden Ringand itsShadow of the Erdtree DLCbehind him, fans have been wondering what he’ll be up to next. While Elden Ring Nightreign is still to come, Miyazaki won’t be hands-on with the project. So, fans have been coming up with their dream Miyazaki project and suggesting video game IPs they’d like him to work on next.

Dream Miyazaki Project
Over on the Elden Ring subreddit, fans have been discussing the games they’d like to see Miyazaki work on. Of course, don’t expect any of these games to ever be made, but there’s no harm in dreaming. The suggestions are pretty diverse, featuring classic titles like Legend of Zelda and Castlevania to other popular IPs like Lord of the Rings and Evangelion.
One of the most obvious suggestions was Berserk. Miyazaki hasn’t exactly hidden his love for the manga, heavily referencing it in multiple games across the Souls universe. The problem with that is it may be too similar to what we’ve seen in Elden Ring and the Souls games already.

Castlevania was another shout, with one comment even saying he’s already got so much experience with Raya Lucaria, Volcano Manor and the Shadow Keep, that Dracula’s castle will truly be something worth exploring if Miyazaki gets behind it. Others said The Legend of Zelda series could also suit the director well, especially the Twilight Princess with its overall dark fantasy approach.
The Lord of the Rings seems to be another popular request, with other comments agreeing and offering up their sword, bow, axe, Moonlight Greatsword, Metiorite Staff… this went on for a while. Others suggested a game set during the events of The Silmarillion seems perfect for the director, with morally grey kinslaying Elves, tons of Balrogs, Dragons, Werewolves, bats, and Maia hanging around.

While it’s unlikely that we’ll see any of these games being made by the renowned director, you can’t help but admit they sound great.
