However, in more recent times, Elden Ring’s PvP mode has become plagued by cheaters, much to the annoyance of the community.
Elden Lords Cheese, But Don’t Cheat
It’s not that these cheaters are merely upping their stats, or using abilities in ways they’re not supposed to; some of them are literally breaking the game for regular players, and in extreme cases, even ruining their save files. As demonstrated via a Reddit post byMienaiYurei, some cheaters have been taking things too far.
“I’ve seen this type of cheater before, quickly quitting as you see the gray screen will save my file,” they said. “They are using programs to clip you off the map. Making you infinitely fall through the ground even after respawning. Possibly ruining the save file. But this was the 2nd cheater in a row in the duel pulling this off after they lose. I’ve seen them occasionally but never two different cheaters in a row like this. Be careful out there.”
It seems a few cheaters are using this hack, and the worst part is that it affects your save file. “This really seems to be getting out of hand,” said one comment. “Wonder if fromsoft is going to end up doing with Elden Ring like they did the Dark Souls trilogy a few years ago where they had to remove online functionality for months just to deal with all the hacking.” In fact, a lot of the comments mentioned how much better the PvP in Dark Souls 3 was compared to that of Elden Ring.
