Summary
Copycats are nothing new in the gaming space.Black Myth: Wukong received one late last year, andThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomdidthe year before. Unsurprisingly, NSFW copycats are just as common, withHelldivers 2 the latest victim of the trend.
A new mobile game, Enigma of Sepia, may have taken things to the next level, though, creating gacha waifu versions of some of anime’s most iconic characters, including One Piece’s Luffy, Dragon Ball’s Goku, and Attack on Titan’s Eren.

Enigma Of Sepia Is A Gacha Game With Suspiciously Familiar Gender-Swapped Characters
Reports of the game first appeared onResetEra, with commenters quick to point out the similarities between Enigma of Sepia’s characters and those that exist in the anime landscapes of Jump and Shueisha, and they have a point.
Across the game’s social mediachannels, YouTubechannel, and itswebsite, dozens of characters have seemingly been inspired, and we use the word inspired loosely, by existing anime favorites. The character Nova features Luffy’s infamous straw hat, Satoria is wearing Gojo’s infamous round sunglasses, and Denise has chainsaws for hands, just like Denji from Chainsaw Man.
In the game’s first trailer, characters like Evangelion’s Unit-01 appear, and across its other marketing, we’ve spotted the following:
But there are countless more.
You can see a selection of the characters below;just be aware that some images in the gallery are a little NSFW.
Enigma of Sepia is a mobile gacha game described by the creators as a “next-gen RPG with epic worldview, and one-of-a-kind gameplay that allows you to lvl-up any heroes into SSR+.” The game’s website promises stunning 3D graphics, no imbalances, tons of heroes, and a chance to “Win the world champion,” whatever that means.
If the game looks like it may appeal to you in any way, we advise erring on the side of caution. In trying to reach out to the game’s creators to see if they would comment on the copycat allegations, the only email address on its official website was a personal Gmail address.
Whatever happens, we don’t foresee it ending well for the creators.
