Summary

In the expansive Pokemon world, it’s no surprise that some of the card art used inPokemon Trading Card Game Pocketfeatures more than just the star of that particular card. For instance, the one-star Vaporeon card art focuses on the water eeveelution, but you can see Finneon jumping out of the water in the background.

However, sometimes there are Pokemon hidden in the cards, making a game within this game. A “Where’s Wally?” only, the question is, where is Mew? All over the place, it turns out. This list will reveal each card with a Mew hidden in plain sight.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Chatot one diamond card with hidden mew highlighted.

7Chatot

Rarity: One Diamond

This is the funniest of the hidden Mews as you really only see its little pink booty sticking out of a nearby bush in the bottom right-hand corner of Chatot’s card. Chatot proudly stands in the center of the card; it does belong to Chatot after all. It doesn’t seem to take notice of Mew sneaking around in the background, blissfully going about its day.

Meanwhile, Mew has other places to be. It has more cards to invade. But in its haste to get up and out of Chatot’s space, it still ended up photobombing the music note Pokemon. During its big solo too. The sunbeams and everything. Chatot’s going to be so mad later when it sees this.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Joltik one diamond card with hidden mew highlighted.

6Joltik

Again, the common theme here is that Joltik is the focus of the card. This is Joltik’s card. So, to drive that point home, the little attaching Pokemon is in the center and in the foreground. However. That sly mythical Pokemon appears in the background again. This time, you’ll have to train your eyes to the top left of the card.

Floating between two trees is Mew yet again. Its back is still turned, mostly, to you in the image. However, instead of just a butt and a tail, you can see a bit of Mew’s face. Its eyes seem set on its next location within this expansion pack. Which Pokemon will it interrupt next?

Curious about Joltik being called the attaching Pokemon? Every one, two, and three diamond card lists the Pokemon’s species name in the small text just below the image.

5Drednaw

Rarity: Two Diamonds

Look in the water! It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No, it’s absolutely Mew again. While some seem to think Mew is hiding just underneath the water in this scene, others believe it’s Mew’s shadow as it flies overhead in the sky. Drednaw is looking up, but not in Mew’s assumed position in the sky. So, no matter what you think, it still means Mew has snuck into another card.

With such beautiful surroundings in this card, can anyone blame Mew for wanting to fly across or swim in suchpristine-looking waters? Not to mention, while Drednaw may be aware of Mew being there, it isn’t showing any aggression. No, Drednaw saves that for the battlefield.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Stonjourner two diamond card with hidden mew highlighted.

4Stonjourner

Stonjourner is such a funky big dude. This Minecraft-esque Pokemon might also be aware of Mew’s presence. Now, Mew is behind the big rock Pokemon, meaning it might not see Mew there. However, that one, left eye is looking a little quizzical. Its left, not your left.

This time we see Mew completely. Not very ‘hidden’ in this card. But we can see that Mew is watching the Fighting Pokemon as it continues on its journey acrossthe Mythical Island expansion. It would have been nice to see an interaction between these two. A playful moment. Then, again, it wouldn’t be hidden from Stonjourner.

In its video game appearances, Stonjourner is a Rock-type Pokemon. However, in Pokemon Pocket, it’s considereda Fighting Pokemon.

3Weezing

This is the trickiest of the diamond rarity cards. Of course, we can see Weezing. That’s easy as the background is filled with a noxious-looking green gas. But if you look closely, between the curves of those toxic fumes, you can see Mew’s back yet again turned to face you as it looks off into the distance.

On the right-hand side of the card, Mew floats there and, with the background of this card looking so different from the others, it’s difficult to tell where Mew is going or what it’s doing. Probably thinking to itslf that it has to get the heck out of this place if it doesn’t have an Antidote handy.

2Celebi ex

Rarity: Three Stars, Immersive

Now this is a bit contradictory as Mew is not seen in the actual Celebi ex immersive card. However, when the video plays when you collect the card, Mew is very much present. While a scene is being shown around Celebi, who remains in the center for the duration, Mew flies around in the foreground, entering and exiting frame three times.

Leave it to Mew to hide within the video of the only immersive card in the Mythical Island expansion pack. It’s arguably the biggest stage and spotlight that Mew could steal. However, it’s doubtful that Celebi would mind sharing the scene with the new species Pokemon.

1Mewtwo ex

This is the only card that’s not part of the Mythical Island expansion and is actually fromMewtwo’s Genetic Apex setof booster packs. While they don’t share a set, Celebi and Mewtwo have one commonality: Mew only appears in the immersive video attached to their cards.

You really have to be looking for Mew to find them in this immersive as it’s only very briefly on screen, reflecting in the glass of Mewtwo’s holding container. After the flash of bright light, a still reflection of Mew fades in and out before returning to Mewtwo, focusing on its escape from this facility.
