Summary
Obsidianhad 18 months to developFallout: New Vegas, but somehow, it created what is largely considered to be thebest entry in the series. However, as would be inevitable in any rushed development cycle, some aspects of the game had to be scaled back, and it’s possible that the New Vegas Strip was one of them.
We already know that The Strip was supposed to be one big area, but had to be split into sections due to hardware limitations. However, if youlook at concept art, we can see that it was supposed to be much grander, and a lot more alive.

Now, as spotted, byDestructoid, a modder is trying to capture this vision.Lived-In Stripfrom Nexus Mods user Qolore7 makes changes to the area that make it look like a place that people would visit. As well as giving The Strip a much-needed clean-up, it adds little set pieces, decor, furniture and more, so it really does look, well, lived in.
Fallout: New Vegas Mod Breathes Life Into The Strip
“It’s no secret that The Strip is incredibly underwhelming in vanilla,” reads the mod’s description. “My goal with this mod, much like my other Lived-In mods, is to breathe some new life into it while not going over-the-top and tanking performance/making it stick out too much.”
True enough, this is perfectly in keeping with the designs of other areas in the game, while making it clear that Vegas is the jewel of the Mojave. So, it shouldn’t look out of place if you tend to play with no mods.
The mod has amassed almost 4,000 downloads in just a few weeks, so it’s got plenty of fans. As Qolore7 alludes to, they have other mods too, if you want to try them out.
