Summary
In its latest collaboration, the world ofFortnitehas been invaded by Godzilla. As of January 17 and running through mid-February, Godzilla is Fortnite’s latest big bad, andgamers can either work together to take him down, or if they’re lucky enough, become the Kaijuand wreak havoc.Mechanically, it’s a lot similar to how Doctor Doom worked.
It’s no doubt a neat collaboration, but up until Friday, the spawn rate for Godzilla was fixed.According to esports.gg, his spawn rate hovered around 20 percent, meaning not everyone was lucky enough to either face or become Godzilla. Naturally, that led to some frustrationfrom fans, with many calling Epic Games to make the spawn rate 100%.
Well,Epic Gameslistened and Godzilla has been fixed for good.
Everyone Can Be Godzilla
In a post shared to Twitter, Fortnite revealed that from Friday through the end of the weekend, the spawn rate for Godzilla has been set to 100 percent. In other words, he’ll be part of every match, as opposed to a chance encounter. Godzilla’s health has also been boosted, making each encounter a bit more dangerous.
At the time of writing, it remains to be seen if Epic Games will extend that window until the event is over. Given that there are quests tied to his presence, it would make sense to have him around as much as possible.
Either way, fans were immediately pumped at the news. “After spamming matches and leaving if ‘Zilla doesn’t appear, or if I don’t get it every day for a week straight … I finally got to be him last night!“one user shared on Reddit. “Now I’m happy to know that it may not be the last time.” Indeed, Godzilla is for everyone, and that’s a good thing.
