Summary

Godzillahas been a part ofFortnite’s current season since a skin modeled after the iconic kaiju was made available via its battle pass. However, a cinematic showing a much larger, more cinematically accurate Godzilla hinted that there’s more to come from the crossover, and now this week’s update has gone live, Fortnite’s dedicated leakers and dataminers have discovered what’s coming next.

The details regarding an upcoming Godzilla mythic have been shared byFortnite leaker Hypex. No official confirmation as of yet, but between the tease and the reliability of Hypex and other Fortnite leakers who have been discussing the next part of the Godzilla crossover, it’s all but certain starting this Friday, players will be able to transform into a gigantic version of the famous movie lizard.

According to the files found intoday’s 33.20 update, a mythic weapon that can be found on the island starting this Friday will turn players into a giant Godzilla. Exactly how big you will become isn’t entirely clear, although the teaser Epic posted on Monday suggests you will be as tall as Godzilla is in the movies. Maybe even tall enough to grab the Battle Bus, although thankfully it shouldn’t still be above the island by the time the transformation happens.

Details About Fortnite’s Upcoming Godzilla Mythic Have Been Leaked

Some Very Big Kaiju Are Coming To The Game This Friday

The teaser shows four players rushing into a rift and then three of them running away, a full-size Godzilla now in their midst. That suggests rifts will be the key to unlocking the Godzilla mythic, and that only one player can use it at a time. While that makes a lot of sense, it will be a shame as multiple massive Godzillas fighting each other until only one remains sounds like a twist on Fortnite I didn’t realize I needed until right now.

As for the rest of the leaked details, topping the list is a power labeled “beam”. That’s presumably Godzilla’s atomic breath which will almost certainly be one of the most powerful things Fortnite players have ever had at their disposal. You will also be able to stomp, further leaning into the belief this player-controlled Godzilla is going to be massive, and roar. There’s also a throw banana ability in Fortnite’s files suggesting a Kong mythic is coming too. Maybe we will be getting that in-Fortnite kaiju fight after all.

While we won’t know how exactly the Godzilla mythic will work until it arrives in Fortnite this Friday,Fortnite Festival’s Hatsune Miku crossover is live right now. The world’s most famous virtual popstar is unlockable if you buy season seven’s music pass, with an additional Hatsune Miku skin to unlock if you complete it before the season ends.
