Summary
FromSoftwareis easily one ofthe best studios out there at the moment, pumping out absurdly brilliant titles on a timeline that probably makes the rest of the industry sick with envy. Even when FromSoftware isn’t making brilliant soulslikes back-to-back,they put out bangers like Armored Core 6.
No studio is without flaws though, and FromSoftware is no exception. Most of its games have one or two issues that we can complain about if we’re being really picky, and it just so happens that the FromSoftware subreddit was feeling particularly picky earlier this week, sharing what they believe are the biggest issues across all of FromSoftware’s games.

FromSoftware Fans Share Their Biggest Issues With The Studio’s Games
A Reddit user called Yeetitmeyeetwas the first to kick off the discussion, who explained that they really dislike the runbacks you have to go through when trying to beat a particularly difficult boss, claiming the game “doesn’t respect my time”. It may not be that much of a problem in more modern FromSoftware games, but some of those early games are rough for it.
Another popular response came from a Reddit user called Educational_Motor733, who took issue with the lock on system used in pretty much all the studio’s games, calling it “maddening”. A fair few fans added their voice in agreement, with frustrated with how “notoriously jank” the camera is in most FromSoftware games. I’m still in recovery fromthe fight with the Divine Beast Dancing Lion in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Another user called Revan0315 shares their complaint, which is less about an existing feature and more about the disappointing lack of one. Dark Souls 2 may be the black sheep of the series, but it did introduce some interesting features, one of those being Bonfire Asceticsthat allowed you to essentially fight bosses again. Revan0315 explains that they’re sad FromSoftware decided to “throw that out”, and would actually like the ability to replay bosses.
There are a selection of other responses that are common complaints among FromSoftware fans, such as obtuse side quests - which can be extremely difficult to track without external help - and the lack of a dedicated pause button for seemingly no reason. Just goes to show that even a developer as beloved as FromSoftware can be a little frustrating. Here’s hopingElden Ring: Nightreign doesn’t have too many little annoyances.

Elden Ring
WHERE TO PLAY
With worldbuilding from Game of Thrones scribe George R.R. Martin and developed by FromSoftware, Elden Ring is a masterpiece in what has become known as the ‘Soulslike’ genre of action role-playing games.
