It’s been almost six years since HBO’s original drama series,Game of Thrones, came to an end – but a new Westeros experience is on the horizon. Early Access for the highly anticipated action-adventure RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, is now open onSteam.
First unveiled at the 2024 Game Awardsand developed by Netmarble, the game will launch onPCfor Steam and Windows Launcher and mobile platforms in 2025. Players will take on the role as the heir to House Tyre, a minor house from the North, as they explore a sprawling open world and navigate the political machinations across the realm.
In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, players will embark on a new and original story created for the game that takes them to iconic locations such as King’s Landing and Castle Black – crossing paths with fan-favorite characters including Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Lord Varys and more.
Players will have three classes to choose from: Knight, Assassin, or Sellsword. The skills and combat mechanics available to players will be dictated by the class they choose. Players can see all three classes in action on Steam and mobile to aid them in making a decision before committing to a choice.
Set during the second half of season four, player actions throughout the game will play a larger role in the fate of Westeros and impact overarching storylines from the show. While the player’s primary objective will be to restore glory to their house, winter is still coming, and they will need to aid the Night’s Watch in their preparations for the imminent White Walkers invasion.
