Summary
While it still remains to be seenif previous rumors of a God of War Greek-era remastered trilogy come to pass, it appears thatGod of Warfans will return to Greece at some point in 2025.
In a post shared on Bluesky, insider Jeff Grub revealed that a “side-story project” set within Greece is “coming out this year.” It is not a remastered collection.
As it stands, the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary, making 2025 as good a year as any to release any new content. To this point,a vinyl collection has been revealed, featuring music from every game in the series. Elsewhere, a Dark Odyssey collection was released for Ragnarök, giving players the iconic skin set.
Is The Remaster Even Real?
Previously, in February, rumors of a remastered collection began swirling, with Grubb suggesting that a package would be announced closer to the franchise’s anniversary date. However,Sony’s Santa Monica Studio was quick to squash any sort of rumors about an announcement, sharing on social media that no announcements would be made during an anniversary panel.
In a follow-up post, Grubb iterated that he was “never told” about a remaster collection, and that a source told him that while no God of War content would be shown at the State of Play, it was possible for news on the anniversary. Of course, that didn’t happen. Only time will tell if this recent rumor comes to pass.
