Summary
GreedFall 2: The Dying Worlddidn’t get off to the best start when it launched in early access last year. Becoming available to play on May 27, 2025, it wasquickly hit with negative reviews, as fans did not take well to the changes made from its predecessor, or the various performance issues.
This was only compounded by the lack of updates after release. Update 0.2, which promises a continuation of the story available in early access, wasdelayed indefinitely in November, and it was never clear when it would be with us. Now, we know that it will drop on March 27, so just under a week away from now.

Ahead of update 0.2’s release, developer Spiders has given us an idea of what we can expect. Once the update is live, the main story should continue, letting players who’ve done all they can in early access play on. As part of this, we’re unlocking a new area, Olima, City of Stars, as well as a new companion called Safia, a member of the Bridge Alliance.
GreedFall 2 Is Finally Getting More Content In Early Access
The next update will add a new area and companion
“We’d like to welcome you to Olima, City of Stars,” reads a newblog poston Steam. “Located within the ancient country of Thynia, a land held within enemy hands, this will be the next stop on your adventure across Gacane and provide you with brand new twists and turns as you try to find the reason behind the woes and ills befalling your people…”
As well as exploring the city, the update will open up the surrounding area, described as wilds that “present their own challenges”.
As for the new companion, Safia is part of the Bridge Alliance - a faction centred around scientific advancement. “Anti-imperialist at heart, Safia is a seasoned explorer with a curiosity for the world around her. Her age and experience help keep her grounded, and with it, comes wisdom beyond compare,” her character description reads. “A happy woman, content with the life she’s led, she now chooses to join you and help fight back against the growing evil that lurks on the horizon.”
However, this isn’t all that we’re getting with the new update. Ablog postfrom yesterday also teased an “improved combat system”, with much of these tweaks focussing on improving real-time combat. While the devs havepreviously said they won’t go back to the combat from the first game, this could bring it pretty close.
