Summary
Trevor Philips was one of the bestGrand Theft Autoprotagonists of the series. Along with Michael and Franklin, he represents one extreme of the equilibrium that the three create inGTA 5. Being on the slightly deranged side of the scale, his missions were always loaded with action, humour, and ridiculous rants.
While players loved waking up as Trevor in a random situation during a character swap, anybody who probably came across the character probably hated him. In fact, there were rumours that even actor Steven Ogg hated his own character, which snowballed into him hating GTA as a whole. Ogg has now come out and rubbished these rumours.

Steven Ogg Doesn’t Hate His GTA 5 Character Trevor
As a guest on the Inside of You podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, Ogg spoke about being recognised as Trevor, and how he feels about it (thanks,GamesRadar+). He immediately addressed the rumours about him hating the character and the GTA series, saying there’s nothing to them at all. “When people call you by your character name it’s kind of weird,” he said. He continued, saying he didn’t want to be called by the name of a “video game character cartoon, there’s just no way I could be a cartoon.”
“So I’m sure at some point I was like, ‘What are you fing talking about,’ and then it became this thing of, ‘He hates Trevor, he hates GTA, don’t call him Trevor, he’ll freak out,'” However, Ogg thinks Trevor is “a great character, he’s awesome, and like still, Shawn [Fonteno, Franklin’s actor] and Ned [Luke, Michael’s actor], we’re friends, we were just doing a Comic Con this past weekend. So those kind of comments don’t bother me, because I’m like, ‘You don’t fin’ know me.'”

In fact, another recent interview adds more proof that Ogg likes his character. Talking aboutif Trevor would return for GTA 6, he replied, “It would be fun if Trevor appeared in it just to be killed at the beginning. I think that would be cool.” While that may sound like he hates his character, Ogg explained that it would be a passing of the torchin GTA’s own way.
