Summary
It’s easy to rip on Gen Alpha for allthe brainrot memes, even if we’re only continuing the never-ending cycle of generational bullying. Then again, Millennials hadVine— maybe they deserve it. But for the Zoomers reading this, we’re no better than the kids of today. We were making, and it pains me to say this, Skibidi Toilet videos back in 2009.
As uncovered byu/ElpacoLuca_Octy on r/HalfLife, in the ye oldGarry’s Modpoop days, when corny, fraps-filmed skits were all the rage, one YouTuber put together a video about evil flying toilets… and Hitler running away from a Teletubby. Maybe Zoomers deserve the bullying too.

I was a whopping eight-years-old when it came out.
But the standout moment in the video is when the ominous music kicks in, the camera pans to a toilet, and out pops G-Man pulling a silly face. It’sinstantly recognisable as Skibidi Toilet, but this predates the popular YouTube series by 14 years. As so many of the comments now point out, this video is “patient zero”.
What Came First, The Skibidi Or The Toilet?
The question is, did DaFuq!?Boom! rip off Steevn606? Probably not. Consciously copying an obscure video from 2009 with only 35,000 views doesn’t seem likely, but then again, two separate people, over a decade apart, coming up with the exact same awful internet meme, is a wild coincidence to reckon with. It’s like monkeys with typewriters if Shakespeare was a brainrot TikTok compilation. Please take the typewriters (read: Garry’s Mod) away from them.
The version of GM_Construct that this video uses is a decade older than Skibidi Toilet fans.

That being said, u/Neet-owo has a possible explanation, one that isn’t as terrifying as Skibidi Toilet being an inevitable end result of human ingenuity.
“I wonder if the original creator of Skibidi Toilet saw this one day a decade ago, forgot about it, then remembered it again while not remembering where it came from and mistook it for an original thought.” In a roundabout way, it’s possible that Steevn606 is responsible for Skibidi Toilet. Cue the Oppenheimer memes.
