One of the main reasons why the community loves Arrowhead is because the devs listen. Of course, they can’t add every ridiculous idea for a warbond or mission type that we recommend forHelldivers 2, but the60-day update planwhich essentially saved the game was only due to the studio listening to what the fans wanted.

The player count has been at an all-time high since the Illuminate were added to the game in theOmens of Tyranny update, but it looks like things are going to get roughwith the Meridia black hole on the fritz. Probably in order to combat whatever’s coming, a new Helldivers 2 warbond has been announced, andfans think it might just be the best one yet. This is mostly down to the new stratagem – the highly requested portable Hellbomb.

Unleash Hell Wherever You Go

The newly announced Servants of Freedom warbond is probably the most anticipated one that’s ever come to the game. Dropping on February 6, the warbond includes two great armour sets, the next variant of one of the game’s best guns, a seeker grenade, and the thing you’ve all been waiting for – a Hellbomb you’re able to call in any time and wear like a backpack.

“The B-100 Portable Hellbomb, a beacon of democratic truth in a convenient backpack format, which can be easily activated by you or a helpful teammate. Just be sure to drop the pack and clear the area once it’s active, because the B-100’s got a ten-second countdown that can’t be canceled,” reads thedescriptionof the new stratagem.

The LAS-16 Sickle is the go-to primary for many a Helldiver, and the Servants of Freedom warbond has introduced its big brother. The LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle is an overclocked version of the LAS-16 which dishes out more damage but also burns the user if you’re not careful. Being a servant of freedom does warrant some sacrifice.

The IE-3 Martyr and the IE-12 Righteous medium armors not only make you look as cool as the Maccabian Janissaries from Warhammer 40,000, but feature a unique perk that will detonate your copse upon death, taking out any bugs, bots, or squids in the immediate vicinity. Even in death you may be a servant of freedom.

The warbond also comes with a G-50 Seeker that’s essentially a grenade on a drone. It follows you around and seeks out nearby enemies. The kicker is that it will also go after enemies you’ve manually pinged.
