An island’s environment is dictated by its biome. Every biome has a wealth of resources that can be harvested, so long as it is done responsibly lest the island’s ecosystem suffer. One type of resource that can be obtained from an island is a bug or an insect.

How To Restore An Ecosystem With Insects

When an island’s ecosystem is unhealthy,check your field guideto see whether it lacks any insects. If the island needs insects added to its environment,release insects here that are nativeto the biome of the island. You’ll need torelease a different type of insectfor every additional number of insects required by an island’s ecosystem.

A worm makes a great insect to restore any ecosystem because it counts asone type of insectandone type of decomposer.

To release an insect,head to your inventory. Hover over the insect you’d like to set free andhold the F key.

How To Find Insects

Insects are commonly foundstuck on tree stumps. These can beon top of the stumporon its side. You can also find themon fallen logs.

Another way to find insects is byusing your Dorkip to dig up Turf. For every patch of Turf you collect,an insect may be foundalong with it.

Using your Dorkip on Turf is how youfind worms.

If you have a Decomposer, you canbuild a Worm Boxnext to it and a worm will spawn inside over time.
