When you speak to the different people hanging around in various locations ofKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you may find information on events happening nearby or stories that will lead to new quests. One small village where you’re able to meet plenty of folks with different quests is Tachov.
Tachov is a small village above Troskowitz, and at the inn you can meet a man named Hired hand Zdenyek the Mouth. He’s a storyteller that you can tell stories to or hear stories from yourself. One story of his is a fairy tale about an axe, which may turn out to be more fact than fiction.
How To Start The Axe From The Lake Quest
To obtain this quest, you will first need tolook for Zdenyek. He can be foundseated outside the inn of Tachov. Engage in a conversation with him andask for a story. You canpay him,give him a drink, orpersuade himto tell you a story of your choice.
Choosing to persuade Zdenyek to tell you the storymay failunless youhave the charismato convince him.
Ask him to tell youa story about something informative. He will then begin a story aboutan axe buried by a lake. The story is said to be a fairy tale, but you may actuallyfind the coveted silver axeif youlocate the exact burial spot.
How Do You Find The Axe From The Lake
To find the axe, the best place to start isat Rockwater Pond Pier. This isnorthwest of Zhelejovandwest of Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn. From Zhelejov,take the path that leads northwestin between some thick woods.
When the Axe From The Lake quest is active, the area where the lake and the axe are located will behighlighted in yellow.
Keep walking until you seethe pier on your left. Examining it will have Henry make a comment on what to look for next.
Turn around andface the direction opposite the pier. Directly across the pier towards the forest isa path that leads up to a hill. Go along the path until you seean old oak tree. The tree looks very different from the others in the forest with itsvery large size. You canexamine this next spot againfor Henry to give a hint about the next location.
Keep following the path up the hilluntil you see alarge rock on your left. This is the rock where the silver axe was broken to pieces by the living brother.Examine it againto have Henry comment on it.
Walk up a little furtheruntil you reach thetop of the hill. Once there, you will need tohead a bit off the trailtowards the northwest to find the burial spot. The exact location isoverlooking the lake in the north.
You will needa spadeto dig up the grave. verify tohave one in your inventory. You canpurchase oneorpick one upbesidethe outhouse in Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn.
Use your spade todig up the brother’s grave. Loot it to find several items: abroken axe, abroken round shield, agemstone silver ring, and fivemarigold flowers.
Apart from the silver axe, you cansell the other itemsto fetch a considerable amount of groschen.
The broken axe is a piece of the silver axe from the story, and you will need torepair itto progress in the quest further.
How Do You Repair The Broken Axe From The Lake
You can repair the broken axe byforging it yourself at a smithing station.
You can fix the axe as well asforge different tools and weaponsatRadovan’s forge in Tachov.
The materials you’ll need to repair the silver axe are thebroken axeandone fastening material. You canpurchase materials from Radovanif you don’t have them yet.
Use the forgeto repair the axe, and you will end up with anAdorned Axeat the end.

The Adorned Axe candeal a considerable amount of damageand can also beused with a shield, making it a decent weapon to wieldvery early in the game. That said, if you have a stronger weapon you may bebetter off selling itas it canfetch a higher pricecompared to other weapons.
Once you’ve successfully repaired it, you canhead back to Zdenyekto tell him about the axe.
