You are thrust into a world of floating islands in the co-op survival gameAloft. Every island has an ecosystem of vast resources that you can harvest from so long as you do so responsibly. Keeping the environment healthy for every island is your main goal but some islands suffer from a mysterious fungal corruption.

As you collect the different types of knowledge hidden on several islands, you’ll unlock technologies that will aid in your journey and allow you to progress. Once you have access to all the technologies, you’ll be able to clear the corruption on the Leviathan, which will be your most challenging and final task.

How To Find The Leviathan

The Leviathan is a living island, which makes it challenging to find asit is constantly flying through the airand changing its position. There is a chanceyou may see it hovering above youwhile you are out sailing or exploring an island, but there is another way to guarantee you willfind its exact location.

Using a Stormchaser, you canfind out what direction the Leviathan is in. To do so, you will need a few items:

Once youactivate the Stormchaser, you will be able totrack the Leviathanbysailing in the direction of the smoke.

Your Stormchaser will be tracking the Leviathan fora limited duration only. Once the time has run out, you will need touse the same materials to activate the Stormchaseragain. verify youhave additional materials in stockso you can keep tracking the moving Leviathan.

Once you find the Leviathan, you will see thatit is made up of several tiny islands. As soon as you reach the beast,it will appear on your mapsimilar to how other islands are visible there. Once it appears on your map, you will be able tomark it so that a green beam will appearon one of its islands and you will be able touse it to guide you to its locationat all times.

How To Clear The Leviathan Boss

When you discover the Leviathan, you will find that each of the islands on its back suffers fromthe same corruption the other corrupted islandsare afflicted by. That said, you will simply need tocure the Leviathanby performing the same task ofdestroying every Corruption Nodeon its surface.

There are plenty of Corruption Nodesspread out across the Leviathan’s back, and you will need to clear them out while alsodefending yourself from the hostile fungal mobsthat will be charging at you as you cleanse the islands.

Your task is straight-forward, but it isby no means easy. You will need toprepare a few thingsto succeed in your fight against the corruption.

Equip Yourself With Weapons And Bandages

To clear the Leviathan, you need to havea weapon coated in Mykter Antidote. There will beCorruption Barriers for a number of nodes, and onlya weapon coated in the antidotewill be able to break through them. Your weapon’s coating will run out eventually, so either be prepared tohead back home to recoat itorhave another coated weaponready.

Another weapon you shouldhave on hand is a Bow. This will allow you toshoot at the nodes from a distanceto protect yourself from the vines and the mobs. There will also be some Corruption Nodes that area bit too high for you, and shooting them with an arrow will be the easiest way to destroy them.

The Leviathan will beconstantly movingso if you get sent flying off its surface, you may find it difficult toget back on its back. Try toavoid the vines guarding the Corruption Nodesbecause they willswipe at youand send you off the island.

Lastly,have several bandages equippedso that you’re able to heal when you take too much damage.

Eat And Prepare A Healthy Diet

Eating before a fightis one of the most important parts of your preparation.Different dishes will give you additional healthand some will haveuseful buffs. You haveup to two slots in your stomachfor dishes and you’re able to alsodrink Clean Water and Coffeeto get the Hydrated buff forincreased attack speed, and the Zippy buff foradditional momentum.

Eat and prepare dishes that will grant themost amount of healthand themost useful buffs. If you can, cook food that will give you theEfficientbuff forincreased attack damageand theEnergeticbuff forshorter movement combos.

Prepare stacks of these dishes and drinks so that you canrestore your buffs after they run out.

Get Good Rest

Resting is an important part of survival as sleeping will grant you buffs that willenhance your performance in combat.

As you clear the corruption on one of the Leviathan’s islands,it will restore the ecosystemeven if the rest are still corrupted. You cansafely lie down on the groundhere or take a rest if you need torecover for the next fight.

Sleep in a bedto get theWell-Rested buffwhich will grant you anincrease in movement speed. After that,perform the Lay Down actionon the ground to get theAt Peace buffthat will grant youminor regenerationas long as it is active.

Restore An Ecosystem

Whenever you restore an ecosystem, you willget the Enthusiastic buff. This will grant youincreased damage, movement, attack speed, and momentum. Having this buff will aid you greatly in your fight against the corruption, so you should try tonab this before heading for the fight.

What To Do After Clearing The Leviathan

Once the corruption on the Leviathan’s back is gone,you may safely exploreits different islands. You will find thatthere are plenty of resourcesthat can be harvested from its surface, such asWind Crystals and Salt Crystals. Go aroundcollecting the various resourcesfrom the newly restored islands.

If you have enough of the basic resources,go around looking for purple flowersdangling from the large rocks on the Leviathan.These are Wisteriaand they can only be seen and harvested on these islands. These can be used for makingWisteria Tea, a Teapot, and Wisteria Vines.

Unfortunately, you can’t turn the Leviathan’s backinto a home base. You can, however,build structures on itso you canspend time beautifying the different islandswhich you can get creative with given its unique form of havingseveral islands attached to each other. This gives youa lot of space to work withallowing formuch bigger structures.

You canspawn your Home Island above the Leviathan, but since it is a moving living island your base willquickly be out of reach. You shouldhave all the items needed for buildingon the Leviathan in your inventory before you start creating your structures.
