There are various types of enemies inStalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Mutants, in particular, can be troublesome to deal with as they usually have a superpower. This aspect makes them pretty challenging and not in a good way if you don’t know how to tackle their abilities.
Controllers are one of the most annoying mutants that can take some time to defeat, as they don’t fight you on their own. It damages the player mentally and makes them hallucinate enemies. So, focusing on the Controller can prove to be quite hard under such circumstances, but there is an easy way to beat it.
How To Beat The Controller
You will encounter your very first Controller when doingthe Hot on the Trail mission. One of the main objectives of the quest is to kill the Controller. Remember that this enemy can attack you from long range, too, using psi attacks. While they won’t deal you any physical damage,they mentally damage Skif, making him hallucinate.
It is one of the most troublesome mutantsfor a reason, but there is an easy way to handle it.This enemy usually spawns around a bunch of zombies. Your primary aim should be taking them out. Shoot them in their head and thenshift your focus entirely on the Controller.
After beating the zombies, you should take a psi pill to reduce the effects of the Controller’s attack. If you don’t have one, then being as aggressive as possible is the best strategy.
Equip your shotgun, rush the enemy, and attempt to deal as much damage as quickly as you may in the situation. If you are unable to finish off the Controller, it will most likelyforce you into long-range combat byusing its psi attack.
If you delay the fight for too long, then the Controller will most likely get the upper hand, as you have limited supplies.
So, simply repeat the aforementioned process, or you canuse your AR or pistol to finish off the enemy from long-range, too. If you are planning to fight from long-range, then do remember that the Controller can still use its psi attacks on you; it will bring you close, leaving you vulnerable, and then will throw you away. Also, verify to have plenty of med kits and use your Grenades whenever possible.
