Monster Hunter has always featured great frozen biomes - even building an entire expansion out of one in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - and Iceshard Cliffs is among the best.
Of course, a map is nothing without its monsters, and Iceshard Cliffs has some of Wilds' most interesting and dangerous creatures to hunt. In this guide, we’ll be breaking down Hirabami, a Leviathan monster that can be extraordinarily troublesome if you aren’t prepared for it.
Best Weapon Damage
Hirabami is weak to bludgeoning damage, particularly around its head and neck. Severing and projectile damage are also effective against Hirabami, so any weapon you use will do the trick - as long as you may reach it.

Hirabami isa very agile monster that spends a lot of time in the air flitting back and forth across the arena, so your best bet is to use a fast weapon with long reach.Light and heavy bowguns are especially effective at targeting the monster’s weakpoints, while weapons like the insect glaive and lances can help you reach the target from the ground or the air.

Hirabami - Fight Breakdown And Moves
Hirabami travel and fight in packs of three, so you’ll want to begin the fight by isolating your target. Because of their quick and erratic movement, large dung pods are going to be your best bet. Hit two of the monsters with poop so that you can focus on the target you’re hunting.
This is a particularly wily monster thatcan be hard to pin down thanks to the way it levitates. Hirabami likes to dart around and attack you from behind, so keeping your eyes on this creature is paramount. Itoften leaves an opening for a counterattack right after it lunges at you, so be patient and look for opportunities to strike.
Most of Hirabami’s attacks come from its prehensile tail, which is lined with five breakable claws. This appendage is where you’ll likely ending dealing a vast majority of the damage to Hirambi, so the Partbreaker skill is especially useful here.
If you want to approach this fight in the most efficient way, you’ll want toattack the large rubbery membrane attached to its head. This pouch is responsible for holding the air Hirabami uses to stay afloat, sodestroying it will slow the monster down and make it easier to hit while airborne. Once it’s destroyed, dealing additional damage to the wound can cause the monster to fall out of the sky, which is the perfect opportunity to stack as much damage as you can right on its mouth - Hirabami’s weakest point.
While this monster is slightly vulnerable to fire and thunder-type damage, it’s not enough to warrant the use of elemental weapons.Stick to your highest-damage weapon, preferably something that’s good at breaking parts, and you should have no trouble hunting this monster - just as soon as you learn its attack patterns.
