The Trails series has always had a thing for fishing, and while it was disappointing to see the minigame missing in Trails Through Daybreak, it has thankfully made a spectacular return in the sequel.Trails Through Daybreak 2will now let Van cast a rod into the nearest body of water to grab all the little (and very, very large) fishies inside.
There are quite a lot of fish to grab,with a decent reward on offer for grabbing them all, along with resources like sepith and quartz for bringing in the big hauls. Here’s your one-stop guide to everything fishing, and how you may reel in the biggest of them.
Where To Get Bait And Upgrade Your Rod
Just like how a worker is only as good as his tools, a fisherman is only as good as his rod. Trails Through Daybreak 2 will give you a free rod to start with, but you’re then responsible for its upkeep.You can make various upgrades to your rod throughout the game, which you’ll need to do if you want to land big fish.
There are several shops throughout the game which sell fishing equipment and bait,but better items are only accessible the more you progress in the story. Below you’ll find a list of all the fishing equipment you can buy, and when it the story it becomes available to purchase.

Where To Find Every Fish

Dumplings and Deluxe Dumplings can be used to catch big, rare fish, though be aware they are limited.

How To Catch An A-Rank Fish
Finally, let’s go over A-rank fish. Not only are you rewarded for catching a bunch of A-rank fish from your Achievement Log, but A-rank fish alsoreward you with some pretty useful quartz too. However, actually catching them isn’t as simple as just chucking your line into the ocean and hoping for the best.
First you’ll need tofind fishing spots, which you can do byusing a simple Shard Search. Hover over the spot with your fishing cursor, and you’ll see whethera fish has the chance to be a “Big Catch”. It’s in these spots that you’ll find your A-rank fish, but keep in mind that you’repretty much required to upgrade your rod to get them, and that thechances are increased if you use more expensive bait.
