As you progress through the different regions of The Living Lands inAvowed, you’ll consistently get new main quests. However, if you want to level up and get more ability/attribute points outside of that, your best bet is to look for various side quests with their specific symbol on the map.
One of these quests is Fires In The Mine, and it can be found in the Shatterscarp area. You can easily start this quest by talking to the Aedyran Soldier in Eagle’s Reach, who will tell you about some problems with the Sulfur Mines.
How To Reach The Sulfur Mines
The first step for progressing this quest in Avowed is reaching the Sulfur Mines on thenorthwest of Shatterscarp. There’s an elevator near Eagle’s Reach that can take you there,but it’ll be out of function when the quest startsso you have to find a different path for the first time.
To reach the mines, head down from Eagle’s Reach andmove to the eastern side until you find a burned village called Scaedclef. You’ll find a path going up further northeast at the top of this village, which leads you to the Deadfall Highlands Party Camp. From here, you can move west and get to the Sulfur Mines Basecamp.
How To Clear The Spider Nests
When you reach the base camp, you can talk to the two people in charge and get the task of clearing the spider nests in the mines. You canfind the entrance to the mine by following the quest markerand here’s how you can destroy the nests inside:
After entering the mines, you first have to simply keep taking the main path whilechecking out the small edges on your left to get a few chests. Once you reach an open area, take the stairs on the left leading up and follow the minecart tracks to the right once you’re up.
Once you turn right here, break the spiderweb with fire and move forward.Defeat the big spider in the path and keep going through small entrances. You’ll then have to jump up a few platforms and turn around to see another spiderweb on the way of the minecart tracks.
Break these webs and jump across the broken part of the tracks. After that, you may fall into a big area where you’ll find the first group of eggs that you need to destroy.This will also trigger a long battle so prepare your weapons and armorbeforehand.
After destroying the first nest, take the other path leading out andyou can easily reach the second one on your left. You can also find agolden Sarcophagus with Magran’s Forceunique clothing on this path.
What Should You Do With Darle?
When you destroy both spider nests and try to exit the mines, you’ll be greeted by Darle who’ll tell you that he’s about to explode the entrance. He thinks that this will avert the war between Aedyr and Thirdborn. At this point, you’ll have two options:
This quest doesn’t have much lasting impact, sonot letting Darle explode the mine is the better choiceas it gets you more rewards.
