There are a lot of quests available inHello Kitty Island Adventure. Every quest is sorted into a category, such as friendship quests, which boost your friendship level with specific characters. The Island Mystery quest category involves all the quests that relate to the main story of the game.
One main quest that you will be able to complete is Reef Revival, which tasks you with cleaning up the reef and restoring it to its former glory. In this guide, we are going to take a look at how you can complete this quest and ultimately unlock the Recycling Plant.

Requirements To Complete Before Reef Revival
In order to complete Reef Revival, you’ll need tocomplete the following two quests. We’ve also included the requirements for each of the quests.
Comic Relief
Friendship Level 6 withHangyodon
In addition to this, you’ll need to befriendship level 11 with Hello Kitty.Once these two quests are complete and you are level 11 with Hello Kitty, Reef Revival will unlock.

How To Start Reef Revival
After completing the requirements for Reef Revival, you can find Keroppi standing at the dock just north ofwhere Chococat is usually found(near the crafting table). After talking with him for a bit, you’ll learn that he isbothered by the trash that is in the water.
Hello Kitty will eventually show up; after a bit more dialogue, you’ll then be prompted to meet Keroppi at the “strange underwater plant”.
Where To Collect Trash
The strange plant in question is theRecycling Plant. You can head to Keroppi and Hello Kitty’s icons to the plant, which isjust to the right of the Cozy Islands fast-travel mailbox.
Here, the two will discuss the plant, and then ask you tocollect eight more pieces of trash(in addition to the two pieces that Hello Kitty gives you).
Trash is found pretty much everywhere in the water. By swimming around underwater, you’ll be able to spot more black trash bags.Simply swim up to one and grab it to stow it away in your inventory.
We suggest searching underwaterwhile wearing the Mermaid outfit set. When all three pieces are equipped, you will swim faster and use less stamina while underwater.
Trash can be found in the water prior to beginning this quest. If you happen to already have enough pieces, you’re able to skip the searching step. Here at TheGamer, we already had enough trash, so when Keroppi asked us to find eight more,we had the option to say “I’ve already collected those!”.
Recycle Trash In Exchange For Coral Spores
When you have enough trash, interact with the plant to begin recycling. You can select the newly obtained trash to recycle it andobtain Coral Spores. After getting the spores, you’ll now need to find a place to plant them.
This is found nearby, so you won’t need to travel too far. Coral Spores will be explained to you, and thenyou can choose which variation you want.
How To Complete Reef Revival
After the spores have been planted,Kiki and Lala will make an appearance and gift you a Rainbow Reef Star Fragment.Once this is done, you will complete the quest! The Recycling Plant will now be unlocked, andyou’ll also be able to use Coral Spores around the Rainbow Reef.
Once complete, you can continue on with other main story quests and come back to recycle if you need to.
How To Use The Recycling Plant
Above, you learned that the Recycling Plant takes trash, but it canalso take tons of other items. In general, recycling trash will give you a chance to obtain Coral Keys (to open chests) and Coral Spores.
You’ll also be able toobtain a wide variety of dye pouches based on the color of the item. For example, if you recycle Bananas, you may get a Yellow Dye Pouch. Below, you can check out a list ofevery Dye Pouch color.
Trash counts as a black item as well, soit may yield a Black Dye Pouch.
Dye Pouches can be used at theClothing Dye Station in order to dye clothes in different colors. This station will need to be unlockedthrough the quest called Tuxedosam’s Dye Upgrade.
