WithThe Sims 4:Businesses & Hobbies, mentoring has been expanded and Sims can now both mentor others and be mentored themselves. Skill building is much faster using this system and mentoring can be used for most skills, not just pottery and tattooing.
The Master Mentor Aspiration is a new aspiration path that will help you go through the basics of both receiving mentorship and offering it to other Sims. Here’s how to complete it.
Master Mentor Aspiration Guide
The Master Mentor aspiration is afour-part aspirationwhich comes with the Businesses and Hobbies expansion. you may find it in theKnowledge category underneath Nerd Brain.
You’ll notice that theaspiration is split into two types of goal.The first two sections contain goals surroundingreceiving mentorshipfrom others, then the second half changes to goals based onpassing on your knowledgeto others.
Do I Need To Own A Business To Complete The Master Mentor Aspiration?
Yes. You can complete thefirst partof the aspiration byattending classes at Terra-Potta, and speaking to other Sims there, but thesecond half requires you to teach classes.
You cangive lecturesto others without owning a small business, butclasses can only be run by small business owners.This means that you’ll need toset up a small businessto finish the aspiration.
Useful Traits For Sims
There are afew useful traitsfor this aspiration, although the value of them is variable.
Creative- This makes Sims inspired more often, leading to better quality crafted items. Since you’ll be crafting while receiving mentorship and during classes, this is useful. Inspiration can also help when sharing knowledge and being mentored.
Practice Makes Perfect- You’ll build skills a little slower at first, but then your learning speed will increase after the first couple of levels, which makes the late-level skills grind much faster. The trait is very useful for gaining levels quickly to impart your knowledge to others, but if you end up more skilled than your mentor too fast, they cannot teach you anymore.
Make sure to start this aspiration with a low skill level to give you the most time to get through the first two parts before you out level your mentor!
Self-Assured- This builds a Sim’s confidence, something which can make delivering classes and lectures easier for them. It can also make it easier to befriend other Sims.
Outgoing- Being outgoing helps Sims befriend others quicker. They also gain positive moodlets from socializing, which helps when making friends in classes and when mentoring.
Aspiration Reward: Motivational Speaker Trait
Once the aspiration is complete you’ll receive the Motivational Speaker Trait. This allows Sims to deliver motivating speeches. The speeches give a boost to skill gain speed, increase the chances of skill perk discovery and offer a happiness moodlet.
How To Complete The Master Mentor Aspiration
There are four parts to this aspiration. Here’s how to complete them all.

Gain A Mentor
Begin by starting a conversation with a Simabove level 5in theskill you want to learn. You should see the optionask to be mentorappear underfriendly - hobbies.
Earn Bronze Level 3 Times From Attending Hobby Classes
The easiest way to do this is toattend Terra-Potta’s pottery classes.You’ll need to pay$9 an hour for entry, then click thewhite boardand chooseAsk To Start Class. Classescost $180. ClickJolandaand chooselisten to lecture.When the 30 minutes is up,discuss pottery techniques twicefor a quick bronze.
Achieve Level 3 In 3 Skills
Itdoesn’t matter what these skills are, so things like cooking, logic and charisma also count. It doesn’t have to be a hobby skill.
Master Mentor
Make A New Friend While Attending A Hobby Class
This can take a while, but thesame Sims tend to turn up. We recommendchatting with a few Simswhile getting your bronze medals, or outside of classes, butnot enough to hit friendship.Once you are close,start the class and just focus on the friendship.You can hit other goals later if there’s time left.
Achieve Gold Level From Attending A Hobby Class
The easiest way to do this is tolisten to the lecture for 30 minutes,then cancel before starting tomake a pot. While doing pottery, you’ll see the option on Jolanda’s social menu toask for mentoring.This combination gets you close.Glazing your potshould finish the gold. If not, justdiscuss pottery techniques twice.
Be Mentored For 3 Hours
If youask for mentoring during a classyou won’t be charged. If you ask outside of classes you may be, unless you are a mentee.Asking during the classes you take for the other goalsis the easiest way to do this.
Achieve Level 5 In 3 Skills
You’lleasily have pottery skills at this levelnow, so just make sure to brush up on yourother regular skills.
Passionate Teacher
Become A Mentor To Another Sim
Once you havelevel 5 in a skill, you canmentor other Sims. Strike up conversation andvolunteer to be their mentorthrough thehobbies social menu.
Mentor Another Sim For 3 Hours
Youdon’t need to be a Sim’s mentorto offer mentoring.Select a hobbyitem,such as the pottery wheel, thenchoose offer mentoring.You can offerpaid or unpaid mentoring. Valid Sims will come up for you to choose from.
Teach 5 Hobby Classes
to teach a hobby class, you will need tohave a small business. You’ll also need awhiteboardandenough hobby items for 3 Sims.Click thewhiteboard to lecturefor 45 minutes. This isenough to get a bronze medaland consider the class successful.
Achieve Level 8 In 3 Skills
Again, this is simply a case ofmaking sure you’ve kept up with 3 different skills.
Earn Gold Level 2 Times From Teaching Hobby Classes
After the lecture, the easiest tasks areTalk About Tattooing (twice)andAsk About Hobbies And Skills. Both are under thehobbies social menuand completing them will net you a silver. The friendly interactions won’t take you over, so you’d also need to become inspired. Due to this, eitherdesigning a tattoo on the sketchpad or mentoring someoneusing a table or sketchpad is the easiest way to gold.
Gain A Mastery Perk
Mastery Perks are gained byhitting hidden targets,similarly to lifestyle gains in Snowy Escape. TheCreative Aurais fairly easy to trigger byrepeatedly practicing the same creative skill.
Achieve Level 10 In 3 Skills
Take those3 core skills of yours to the maxto finish this aspiration.
