Missing Rangers is a side quest inAvowedthat becomes available when you arrive at Fior Mes Iverno. Your task is to locate two missing rangers, Adelarro and Belenna, and report back to Lieutenant Fidelio. While the quest itself is short, your choices will lead to multiple possible endings, making it more impactful than it first appears.

How To Start Missing Rangers Side Quest

To start the Missing Rangers quest in Avowed,speak with Lieutenant Fidelio. You’ll find himin the Bone & Boar bar, locatedwest of the Fior Plaza Beacon Fast Travel point.

As soon as you step inside, you’ll spot him sitting alone at a table. Talk to him, and he’ll explain that two of his rangers, Adelarro and Belenna, have gone missing. He’ll also mention thatthey were last sent to patrol the lake northwest of Fior.

You can also start this quest by interacting with Belenna at her camp first. However, for the full context, it’s best to speak with Lieutenant Fidelio as well, even if you’ve already talked to Belenna.

Finding Belenna’s Badge

If you kill Adelarro before speaking with Belenna, the quest may bug out, preventing it from marking ‘Find Belenna’ as completed even after you’ve talked to her. Talking to Lieutenant Fidelio won’t allow you to finish the quest, either.

The easiest fix is toreload a previous savefrom before you killed Adelarro. However, if that’s not an option,try speaking with Fidelio with Giatta in your party. This may help bypass the issue and allow you to complete the Missing Rangers quest.

To find Belenna,leave Fior and cross the bridge into the Wildwoods. Be prepared for a fight as Xaurips and Sporlings will ambush you right after you cross the bridge. Take them down and loot the Aedyran Arquebusier’s corpse nearby to get aFine Bow.

Follow the path until you spot a campfire and a lone tent.As you approach, you’ll find Belenna sitting by herself. She’s been infected by the Dreamscourge, so when you talk to her, she only speaks gibberish.

Belenna asks you to find Adelarro. At this point, you have several dialogue options. If youtell her to stay put while you search for Adelarroorconvince her to return to town, she will eventually make her way back to Fior. Later, you’ll find her on the second floor of the Bone & Boar bar.

After you turn in the quest, if you interact with Lieutenant Fidelio again, he’ll mention that Belenna is on the second floor. If you go upstairs and don’t see her, don’t worry, she may not have appeared yet. To fix this, leave town and return later or rest for a night at your camp. When you come back, she should be there.

No matter what you say, Belenna only cares about Adelarro. You canlie and say you’ll take care of himortell her the truth that he’s infectedand there’s nothing you may do.

Either way,Belenna gives you herBelenna’s Badgeand asks you to return it to Lieutenant Fidelioat the Bone & Boar. She also reveals thatAdelarro is at the mouth of the river.

Finding Adelarro’s Badge

From Belenna’s camp, follow the river upstream until you reach theMoldering Godless Ruins. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a shimmering, colorful mist and a group ofDreamthrallswandering nearby. Among them isAdelarro, but unlike Belenna, he’s completely lost to the Dreamscourge. There’s no saving him. Your only option is to defeat the enemies and retrieveAdelarro’s Badgefrom his corpse.

Before leaving, make sure toexplore the nearby cave. Inside, you’ll finda glowing purple chestcontaining Golden Scelling,Steel Chunk,Common Round Shield, andHardwood Branch. On the ground nearby, you’ll also findAdelarro’s Scrawling, a message he wrote for Belenna.

To the right of the cave, you’ll notice a spiraling staircase.Take it up, then jump across the platforms to reach the highest level. At the top, you’ll find some Copper Skeyt on the table. Also,behind that table is a Lockboxwith Golden Scelling, Stell Chunk,Tanned Hide, Hardwood Branch, andDank Spores.

Missing Rangers Consequences And Rewards

Return to Lieutenant Fidelioand inform him about the fate of his rangers. Your rewards will depend on your choices. There will be a lot of options so below is what you’re able to expect.

Belenna Comes Back To Town

If you spare Belenna and suggest Fidelio find help from the animancers, he’ll agree skeptically, butyou’ll receive only 550 gold. If you tell him that Belenna is coming back to town and choose“You can’t abandon one of your own”then Fidelio will want to report this situation to Vidarro.
