A good hunter is a prepared hunter, and inMonster Hunter Wilds, you’ll need to be ready for anything. The Monster Hunter series is known for having a massive collection of consumable items that can be used to hunt more effectively, keep you healthy, and buff your hunter in a variety of ways.
Though item crafting is essentially the same in Monster Hunter Wilds as it was in Monster Hunter World, newcomers may find the system slightly cumbersome. If you need help figuring out how to craft, read on for our complete guide.

How To Craft Items
Open up the start menu and you’ll find theCrafting List under the first tab, Items & Equipment. The Crafting List is where you can find and make all of the craftable items in Monster Hunter Wilds - presuming you have the necessary ingredients.
When you first start the game, some of the craftable items won’t be selectable, and their name will be covered in question marks. You’ll be able to craft these items once you’ve found the required ingredients. Once you craft one of these items its name and function will be revealed, and you’ll be able to make more of that item as often as you’d like.

you may access the Crafting List from the start menu or your tent, however, if you craft in the field you’ll only be able to use ingredients that are in your inventory. Crafting while in your tent, whether in a village or at a pop-up camp, will allow you to craft using your entire inventory stash.
If there are certain items you craft often, you’re able to set them as favorites, then filter the Crafting List to only show your favorites. This can save you from having to scan through the entire Crafting List to find what you’re looking for.

How Does Auto-Crafting Work?
Within the crafting list, most items have the option to auto-craft. When this option is selected, you will automatically craft that item anytime you’re holding one of the ingredients in your personal inventory and pick up the second one. It will not automatically craft items if both are in your inventory.
If you have a potion and honey in your inventory and you select auto-craft on mega potion, you will not automatically craft a mega potion. However, if you have one of both ingredients in your inventory and you pick up another potion or honey, you will automatically turn that material into a mega potion, provided you’re not already at capacity on Mega Potions.
Some of the best items to set up auto-crafting on arepotions, mega potions, antidote, catalyst, cool drink, hot drink, flash pods, dung pods, shock traps, and tranq bombs. You can assign auto-crafting to almost anything you want, but keep in mind that many recipes share basic components.
Catalysts and bitter bug broth are two of the most common across all recipes, so you’ll probably want to always have a supply of those on hand.
Best Items To Craft
While you need to make adjustments to your loadout depending on the monster you’re hunting, there are a few staple items every hunter should bring with every time they leave camp. You’ll want to make sure you are always fully stocked on these items whenever you’re about to start a hunt, and if you’re not, make sure you craft some. Here is the basic hunter inventory recommended for everyday use:
There are a lot more useful items you can carry, but these 12 will come in handy during practically every fight. If you’re using a bowgun, keep in mind you’ll also need to craft your preferred ammo types from this menu as well.
