If you’re scared of lava, dragons, or statues, the Lava Dragon Statue boss inGenshin Impactmight be your biggest nightmare. While certainly scary, the boss itself is one of the simpler and weaker ones in the game, letting you stun it fairly easily with its straightforward condition and telegraphed attack patterns.

By beating the Lava Dragon Statue, you’ll get the Sparkless Statue Core, an ascension material for characters like Varesa. To aid you in your quest to slay this geothermal dragon, you’ll need characters who can apply tons of Pyro and teams that can benefit from said characters.

How To Beat Lava Dragon Statue

The Lava Dragon Statue is a relatively easy boss to beat in Genshin Impact. Itdoesn’t have many strong attacks, and staying just a bit away from it is enough to give you enough time to dodge.

For its attacks, it’ll usually justhurl its body at you in various ways, all of which are easy to avoid.Even if you get hit, thedamage isn’t that drastic, and a decent healer or shielder can ensure you can beat it fine.

The Lava Dragon Statue also has two long-range attacks, but they’re similar to the Pyro Regisvine’s, and as such, easy to dodge as well.

The Lava Dragon Statue has an absurdly high70 percent RES to all Elements and Physical damage in its base state, which makes it quite a tanky opponent.

While you usually avoid the same Element that a boss has in Genshin Impact, the Lava Dragon Statue is different; you’ll needcharacters who apply lots of Pyro to beat the boss.

While certainly still beatable without filling its Fury Meter, doing so stuns it and lowers its resistances, making your characters deal significantly more damage with each hit.

Each time youdeal Pyro damage or apply Pyro, you charge up the boss’s Fury meter. Once it completes for the first time, theboss goes into its Molten Dragon state.

In this state, you getanother Fury Meter to charge up. However, if you deal eitherCryo or Hydro damage, the meter loses some points.

You can beat the boss in this stage since the resistance is lowered, but to get the full RES shred and the stun, you’ll have to repeat this method.

After you’vefilled its Fury Meter twice, the boss will fall to the ground andbecome stationary in its Overburn state. It takesextra damage in this state, which means you’ll have to reduce its HP to zero before it wakes up.

If it manages to wake up before you deal with it, the boss gains back its 70 percent resistance, forcing you to repeat the steps of filling its Fury Meter.

Best Teams To Beat Lava Dragon Statue

Since the Lava Dragon Statuerequires you to deal Pyro damage and discourages Hydro and Cryo characters, the best teams to use areOverloaded teams, Burning teams, or Mono-Pyro ones.

However, if you don’t have any of these built properly, you cantake any Dendro character and pair it up with a Pyro characterlike Amber. This lets youuse Burning and repeated skills to stun the boss.

The boss’s Fury Meter doesn’t care for damage dealt; it only counts how many times Pyro damage is inflicted. For this reason, you can even use a level one character, so long as they apply Pyro at a high frequency.

Mavuika Chevreuse

While many ofMavuika’s best teamsinclude Hydro or Cryo characters, theChevreuse core is one of the best teams that specialize in taking down the Lava Dragon Statue.

Mavuika applies lots of Pyro, both as the active character andas an off-fielder.Chevreuse can apply some Pyro as well with her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.

Themain star of this team comp is Bennett. His Burst and Skillboth apply multiple units of Pyro, stacking up the Fury Meterquicker than other characters.

Additionally, sinceBennett’s passive lets him use skills more often while within his Burst, this lets you charge up the Fury Meter even quicker by using Bennett as your active character andspamming your Elemental Skill.

Once the boss is stunned, it’ll havenegative resistance. This means it’ll takeeven more damage than enemies normally do.You can nowperform your rotation as normal andburst the boss down.

Burning Teams

Apart from characters dealing damage directly, certain reactions can also charge up the Lava Dragon Statue’s Fury Meter. The main one to do this isBurning, which deals Pyro damage continuously.

One of thebest Burning teams is with Kinich, Emilie, Bennett, and Mavuika, but you can replace the characters with many others.

Using Kinich’s Burst at the start lets you swap to Bennett immediately.

Use your off-field skillsand then swap to Kinich toapply Dendro and trigger Burning. After a rotation, you canswap to Bennett and repeatedly use your Elemental Skill to rile up the Fury Meter.

Then, once the boss is stunned, follow your normal rotation and burst it down.

Mono Pyro Teams

Since you need to be applying tons of Pyro,Mono-Pyro teams are some of the strongest onesin dealing with the Lava Dragon Statue.

You don’t have to do anything specific; justcontinue dealing damage until you inflict the Overburn statusonto the boss.

Mono Pyro teams will generally be the fastest way to break through the Lava Dragon Statue’s two states.

Other Teams

If you don’t have any of these teams, you can insteadpair up any Dendro character with a fast-hitting Pyro unit to use Burningto deal with the resistances.

Afterward, use your other two characters to nuke the bossbefore it gets up.

You can still use teams with Hydro or Cryo characters against the Lava Dragon Statue, you just have to refrain from swapping to them or dealing Elemental damage.

Best Characters To Beat Lava Dragon Statue

Even if you cannot make a complete team to go against the boss, there arecertain characters that can stack up the Fury Meter faster than others.

These would becharacters withlow ICD on their attacks, or ones that can applymultiple units of Pyro on each hit.

The Lava Dragon Statue charges up its meter even if a Pyro attack doesn’t apply Pyro. However, ones that do so stack it more, which is why you’ll want to use characters with fast hits or irregular ICD.

Reason

Bennett

Both Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill apply multiple units of Pyro. C6 gives Pyro-infusion for even more Pyro application.

Can apply tons of Dendro while also dealing damage.

Nahida

Can trigger Burning with Pyro. Tri-Karma Purification can continuously refresh Burning from off-field.
