Once you finally get access to the full open world inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Trosky region, you can get your horse back and look for Mutt once again. During the quest to be reunited with your dog, you meet the son of a drunk game hunter. He’s not willing to help you, but he does run an archery competition you can take on.

You’ll need some Groschen to enter the competition, but it’s the perfect chance to earn more. You’ll need a load to pay the boy to tell you where his father is, so you can use the competition to grind for money. You’ll also be able to come back once you’re more skilled with longbows and crossbows.

How To Find And Enter The Archery Competition

In the Trosky Region, head to the eastern side of the mapand you’ll seea collection of lakes by the forest. You’re looking for a house on a hill to the west of those lakes, inthe exact location shown in the map above.

Once there, head to the back of the house and you’ll find a young man and an archery range. You need to speak to him,say you want to take part in the competition, and select whether you want to use longbows or crossbows. There are then three different levels for the competition.

Once the competition starts, you’ll havethree shots to hit the targetsand you need tobeat the score of your two opponentsto win and get the Groschen that was wagered.

How To Get A Bow

While you’ll have access to plenty of bows later on in the game, you probably won’t have one when you stumble upon the Archery Competition. There are three ways you can get one.

First of all, you canbuy one from the boy who organises the competition. You’ll need a lot of Groschen to get one, but it’ll save you some time. However, since you need Groschen to pay the boy for information on the location of his father, you’re bettter not wasting your limited funds now.

Your second option is tohead back to your bedroom in the Blacksmith’s house and look in the chest in there. If you pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll have a crossbow in there alongside a bunch of shields and some clothes.

Crossbows are a little easier to use, so you should try and find one of those if you can. They’re just harder to use when it comes to actual combat.

Your final option is tokill guards and bandits around the area and hope they are carrying a bow of some kind. Stealing from the dead is a crime, as is murder of course, but it’s a good option if you’re confident you can get away with it. Even if you don’t find a bow to use in the competition, you can steal some items to try and make some money.

How To Win The Archery Competition

Ranged attacks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are tricky at the start and you need to approach each difficulty differently. For the easiest challenge, you simply need to hit the target with your three shots. Do that and you should win without a problem.

That’s easier said than done when you’ve never picked up a bow, though. When firing a bow or crossbow,be patient. Don’t fire while your aim is swaying around.Wait until Henry keeps the sight relatively still, and then fire. You’re not time-limited in the archery competition, so take your time.

It might take you a few tries to get the hang of shooting, but stick with it. Don’t worry about losing a few Groschen the first time, as you’ll be able to win consistently after that.
