Forged In Starmetalis a quest you will get automatically inAvowedwhen you find your firstfragment of Starmetal. However, it won’t be immediately clear what to do with it, and you’ll need to have progressed far enough into the game to have reachedthe Solace KeepinGalawain’s Tusksin order to complete this quest.
Once you find a smith who can work with such volatile metal, you’ll have a choice to make overwhat sort of Starmetal weaponyou want, which will depend on what sort of Envoy you’re building. However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves - first off, let’s find the smith.

Where To Find A Starmetal Smithy
The obvious stop in this search isGweneth in Dawnshore. She’s the smith you meet right near the start of the game, and talks about working with rare metals. However, she cannot help. We spoke to her first, and shesuggested speaking to someone more experienced, which updated the quest. However,it may be possible to skip this step.
The smith who can actually help isForgemaster Dela. He is found inSolace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks. This is the last map you unlock before the point of no return, so this is a late-game quest, even if you manage to start it earlier. He is in theMain Hall, down the steps at the back of the room. Go through the conversation with him until youget the option to mention Starmetal. This will start him on an excited tangent, which you can listen to or cut short. It doesn’t matter, so it depends if you’re in a rush or want to discover all of the lore. After this, he offers you a choice:sword or arquebus.

Should You Make The Starmetal Sword Or Starmetal Arquebus?
Which weapon you should make comes down to playing preference. If you want a greatmelee weapon, choose the sword. If you want agreat ranged weapon, choose the arquebus. You can collect enough Starmetal to get both, while both can also beupgraded. When youupgrade you lose the original weapon, so be careful. See the stats below for each weapon to help make your decision.
